Jenny Marrs recently revealed that she is dealing with a “highly painful” injury that impacts the work she does on HGTV‘s “Fixer to Fabulous.” Thankfully, her husband Dave is there to help her out!
Jenny Marrs Revealed That She Has a Herniated Disc
In a January 21 Instagram post, Jenny shared a clip from the newest “Fixer to Fabulous” episode. In the video, Dave moves a large planter into place with a tractor but Jenny isn’t quite happy with the placement.
She requests that he turn the table around and move it as she determines where it will look the best. Dave notes that the table is very heavy. “We didn’t realize … I built it and it was not bad, 150 pounds. And then I filled it with 400 pounds of dirt,” he explains.
Dave adds, “You know, I thought moving it in here with the tractor, it would take all of the physical labor out of that. Then I remembered I’m married to Jenny Marrs and I had to move it 47 more times.”
In the caption, Jenny shared why she couldn’t do the physical task herself — she’s dealing with a very painful back condition.
“In my defense, I’m a visual person. I think I like something but I have to see it. Then, I realize I don’t. 🤪 And, I have a herniated disc (highly painful — I do not recommend) and so I can’t lift the planter,” Jenny wrote. “So, yes. Dave may have had to ‘scootch’ it a few times.”
She added, “Tonight!! Another family member moves to town, you guys! I can’t wait for you to see this one ♥️♥️♥️ #fixertofabulous on @hgtv at 8/7c.”
Fans Shared Their Experiences With the Back Condition
Some of Jenny’s fans shared their own experiences with having a herniated disc. One wrote, “I can relate. Herniated disc that led to surgery. The good news is no issues after; surgery worked.”
Jenny replied, “Oh good to know! I’m really trying to avoid surgery but this is a helpful perspective!!”

Another fan explained, “I am a very visual person as well. I had surgery in October for my herniated disc, so I’m glad I did it has helped a lot. Healing powers to you.”

Other fans weighed in about understanding Jenny’s need to visualize. “Ditto @jennymarrs I’m visual too,” one person stated. “I definitely can relate. And I have to work everything out in my mind before doing it.”
When a fan noted, “In your defense … Dave knows you’re a visual person 😆,” Jenny answered, “He’s been moving furniture around for 20 years 😂😂”
Another fan shared, “Same with me. Once my husband moved a sectional couch like ten times, and then it went back to the original arrangement!😅”
The HGTV star revealed, “Ohhhh that’s happened many times here. 👊😆”
