Jenny Marrs tackled a fear head-on this summer and literally took a brave leap of faith. The HGTV star shared a video of her jumping off a boat, and explained how she overcame “the fear of the unknown.”

Jenny Marrs Faces a Fear & Takes a Leap of Faith

On August 14, Marrs took to Instagram to share a video of her jumping from a boat with her kids. The moment served as a powerful reminder for the “Fixer to Fabulous” star.

“This morning, I read God’s words to a hesitant Jacob: ‘I am God,’ the voice said, ‘the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will see to it that you become a great nation there.’ (Genesis 46:3, NLT),” she wrote.

Marrs continued, “In the margin, my note from a past study jumped out: ‘Do not let fear of the unknown keep you from experiencing God’s best.'”

Her note served as a reminder of “this seemingly small leap of faith from earlier this summer.”

Marrs recalled, “I tried multiple times to climb up onto the second deck of the boat and jump but I was too afraid to actually make the leap. The kids would cheer me on and encourage me (Luke said, ‘come on, mom! You’re a warrior!’) but I just couldn’t do it. Instead, I’d climb back down with shaky knees, defeated.”

The HGTV star continued to try, however, and finally found herself making the jump.

“After countless attempts (over many days), I finally declared my authority of this darn fear of heights that taunts me. I jumped alongside my kids and their cheers and encouragement afterward felt like ‘God’s best’ in that moment,” she wrote. “Pure joy!”

Marrs added, “So, I’ll share these words again in case someone else also needs the reminder. Read them slowly and let them sink in: ‘Do not let fear of the unknown keep you from experiencing God’s best.'”
