Jenny Marrs Dreams Up Her Most Fun Home Renovation Yet With Basement Pub

Jenny Marrs has yet to meet a home renovation challenge she couldn’t conquer. The HGTV star and her husband created a unique basement bar that’s accessed through a London phone booth — see the final result below!

Dave and Jenny Marrs Create a Basement Pub With a Secret Entrance

In a February 18 Instagram post, Jenny shared what she cooked up for an episode of “Fixer to Fabulous,” taking inspiration from British phone booths.

“Y’all know I have a mild obsession with all things British (yes, as I typed that out, I said it in my terrible British accent in my head 😆),” she shared in the caption. “So, when the Klechkas told us how much they love London and they wanted their lake house basement to feel like a London pub, I was alllllll over it.”

Jenny had a lot of fun with this one. She explained, “One of the elements I love most about British design is that it can be eccentric and the goal is often to have fun with a space.”

The HGTV star continued, “That’s exactly what we got to do here with the hidden speakeasy (I tried to source a phone booth but they were too expensive so Dave just BUILT ONE 🤯), the layers of color and texture, the moody tiles (oh my gosh I can’t wait for you all to see this bathroom — it’s one of my all time favorites).”

Jenny added, “A perfect basement for gathering their people and having fun together. Design doesn’t have to be serious and tonight’s episode proves that. I loved it and I hope you all do too! 🇬🇧💂”

In the clip, Jenny excitedly explains her vision for a phone booth that opens the door to the secret bar. “What if we got a London red phone booth?” she asked. “And you open the phone booth and you pick up the phone, and then the door opens and you come into this hidden room?”

Dave agrees, saying, “That would be cool.”

Dave Marrs Brings Jenny’s Vision to Life

Without an actual phone booth, Dave steps up his game for the task. “Jenny wants me to make an old British phone booth that opens a secret door into a little speakeasy game room,” he explains. The clip shows Jenny’s idea come to life with Dave’s amazing carpentry skills.

He also rigs the phone to open the lock on the door. “I think we can do something really unique,” Dave notes. “This is a basement, so why not have a little fun?”

The homeowners absolutely loved the results!
