Heather Rae El Moussa Says Her ‘Whole Mentality Shifted’ After Becoming a Mom

Heather Rae El Moussa is sharing how her approach to health and wellness drastically changed since she became a mom. Find out more about the HGTV star’s go-to workout, diet choices, and how she beats bloat and fatigue.

Heather Rae El Moussa Says She Experienced a Shift in Her Wellness Priorities

On June 25, El Moussa took to Instagram to share how her “whole mentality shifted” about her health after she had a baby.

“Where are my mamas at?? 🙋🏼‍♀️” she asked in the caption.

El Moussa continued, “Ladies I want to say I don’t always look like this. Some days I’m bloated AF & feel like I’m carrying extra weight … Some days I feel lean and toned. I fluctuate mentally and physically.”

She explained, “I used to be addicted to working out, I did mainly cardio and had NO carbs, like zero. Then I had Tristan and my whole mentality shifted. As a mom my priorities are different.”

El Moussa said she has a new perspective on staying healthy. “Now I workout when I can (normally 3-4 days a week). I listen to my body. If I’m not feeling 100%, I rest and focus on healing,” she noted.

The HGTV star continued, “I struggled (still do) with a thyroid disease. I’ve added in the correct supplements, and a night time wind-down routine to calm my body so I wake up in the AM feeling my best to conquer, or try to conquer, another day.”

She added, “My point is, I listen to MY body I do what makes ME feel good. Remember a new day is a new start!”

El Moussa shared that some of her favorites for healthy living include drinking magnesium water, taking supplements, making protein a priority, and eating “carbs for fuel.” She also lifts weights and uses a “sleep mask, sound machine, and heated neck pad for quality sleep.”

Heather Rae Gives an Update on Their New Home

In a June 26 Instagram Story post, El Moussa gave an update on how things are going with the move to their new home.

“Moving is stressful,” she said. “There’s a lot to get done.”

She panned the camera around the open floor plan kitchen/living room/dining room, noting, “But look how beautiful. This is our living room space.” The HGTV star pointed out where the dining room table and TV will be placed and explained that they are installing a “custom built-in bar area” and other built-ins, including a wine rack.

“So, making progress,” she said. “We’re supposed to be moving in a few days.”
