Heather Rae El Moussa was on the winning team with husband Tarek for the first season of HGTV competition show “The Flip Off.”
Nevertheless, she’s ready to jump ship and go full-on “Team Christina” if the show is picked up for a second season.
In an interview with People, Heather says she’d love to team up with Christina Haack while Tarek El Moussa flies solo in the competition. “I think that it would be super fun. I think that people would love to see Christina and I working together and beating my husband because he thinks that he could beat us, especially in a design contest,” Heather enthused.
In fact, she’s even discussed the idea with Tarek.
She told People, “The other night, I was picking on [Tarek] about something and we were going back and forth. He’s like, ‘I could beat you guys,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, really? You think you could beat us in a design-off?’ And he said, ‘Yes.’”
Heather says she responded with dismay, saying, “Are you crazy? Against two designers?!”
‘The Flip Off’ Was a Bonding Experience for Heather and Christina
Tarek’s ex-wife and current wife formed a strong bond during season one of “The Flip Off.”
Christina now routinely shows up on Heather’s Instagram page promoting Heather’s makeup line, Heather Rae Essentials. In their most recent post together mid-June, the pair are seen wearing matching pink bikinis, posing for pictures by a swimming pool, drinking wine. The pair even apply lip gloss on each other.
The two women also frequently team up to co-parent Christina and Tarek’s two children, 14-year-old Taylor and 10-year-old Brayden. Christina and Heather have put up joint posts on Instagram at Taylor’s middle school graduation and a Mother’s Day celebration at Brayden’s school, among other things.
Heather told People about the effect “The Flip Off” had on their parenting dynamic. She said, “It’s made communication more open. I think when you’re getting along with someone and you can communicate — especially if something’s going on in the kids’ lives — we can talk to each other about it and make sure we’re on the same page. It just makes everything better and everyone happier.”
Heather Says Teaming Up With Christina Would Be Interesting
Heather Rae El Moussa and Christina Haack have already proven their ability to team up personally. They’ve even gone on double dates with Tarek and Christina’s boyfriend Chris Larocca.
The foursome has even vacationed together with their blended families. In fact, Heather says she and Christina are in the midst of planning another joint family vacation.
But Heather says she’s curious to see how the two designers’ styles would blend together in a show like “The Flip Off.”
“I’m so up for the challenge, and it’d be interesting to see how Christina and I work together and design together,” she said in the People interview.
