As stars Erin and Ben Napier expand their “Home Town” empire, from signing a major new talent deal with HGTV to leaning on “Property Brothers” stars Drew and Jonathan Scott for help building their brand, the couple has taken another step in helping homeowners create the kind of cozy, charming spaces the Napiers are known for.
On February 4, 2025, the couple announced their new partnership with Shades of Light, introducing the Erin & Ben Co. Lighting Collection — a project that Erin called a “dream come true” for multiple reasons, but mostly because their entire collection will be made in the United States. In addition, they got to design each light with their beloved hometown of Laurel, Mississippi, in mind.
Erin and Ben Napier Honor Important People in Laurel’s History With Light Collection
In a video on Shades of Light’s website, Erin called their new partnership a “dream come true for me” because “when I’m shopping for lights, I have always started with Shades of Light. There are so many styles represented and available, in every finish and every color and every style.”
But the biggest benefit in the Napiers’ eyes, she said, is that everything will be made in America, mostly in Virginia.
“It was really important to me that as many jobs as possible could be created in the U.S.A,” she said. “That these lights can be assembled in the U.S. is so important to us. If we’re gonna say we care about small town revitalization, we have to care about the jobs that could keep those small towns going.”
The Napiers have brought new life to Laurel, where they live with their young daughters, film “Home Town” and run multiple businesses. In a press release about the lighting collection, Erin said that they named each light after an important person in Laurel’s history.
“We chose names that were specific to Laurel’s history since, for us, this is where everything begins: our desire to emphasize the spirit of small-town America and Laurel’s arts and design heritage is endlessly inspiring to us,” she said.
For instance, the Gardiner Schoolhouse lights pays homage to one of the town’s founding families, the Gardiners, who helped to revolutionize Laurel’s timber industry, per Shades of Light’s website, and “served as the catalyst for Laurel’s progressive education practices.” The Watkins collection of lights, meanwhile, are named after R. H. Watkins, who “instilled progressive practices that modernized Laurel’s education system.”
Erin Napier Helped Design Each Light in New Collection
The Erin & Ben Co. Lighting Collection features 13 distinct pieces, including chandeliers, pendants, sconces, bath lights, wall lights, and ceiling lights, per Shades of Light. Customers can choose from a variety of finishes, including classic satin brass, burnished copper, chrome, and matte black. Costs range from $190 to $1,080.
Erin was very involved in the design of each light, and said in a statement, “The best interiors are a balance of fancy and casual, masculine and feminine. The interest for me in this collection was taking that sensibility and applying it to lighting.”
Shades of Light CEO Bryan Johnson said, “We’ve long been fans of Erin and Ben and their passion for restoring historic homes while maintaining a charming Southern style. We share their goal of creating beautiful living spaces with decorative lighting that helps design enthusiasts express themselves and make their houses feel like homes.”
