Fans Go Wild Over Erin & Ben Napier’s ‘Home Town’ Surprise

Fans of HGTV superstars Erin and Ben Napier feel like they’ve won the “Home Town” lottery.

With new episodes from the eighth season currently airing each Sunday night, thousands of fans expressed their shock and excitement when the Napiers revealed on February 19, 2025, that they’ve already begun filming the next season.

Erin posted an Instagram photo of herself and Ben holding a “Home Town Season 9” filming clapboard and wrote, “New season starts filming today!”

Though each season of “Home Town” typically takes months to film, fans were thrilled to see the next season is already filming. Over 8,000 fans had liked and commented on Erin’s post within several hours.

One excited viewer wrote, “I can’t LOVE a show more than this one!! Real people, doing real work, living real hometown lives..what America needs most!!❤️”

Others expressed their excitement with quick quips and emoji, from “Yayayayay 👏👏👏👏” to “Yippppppeeee🔥” to “Hallelujah!!!“

Another even urged the Napiers, “Plz never stop filming ❤️”

Many fans also thanked the Napiers for creating a quality, family-friendly show with beautiful design work, including someone who wrote, “Yayy!! My favorite. I love your style. I love you, as people. I love that you do not emphasize drama and angst– I can en enjoy the show and truly enjoy the beauty, the warm friendships, the love. Thank you for this gift. ❤️”

Though fans may be surprised by the timing of the Napiers’ announcement, HGTV did reveal in late January that the couple had signed a massive multi-year talent deal, guaranteeing that new seasons of “Home Town” will continue through 2027.

“The HGTV family is where we belong,” the Napiers said in a joint statement about their new deal. “Shows are often impermanent but ‘Home Town’ endures, we think, because it lives on a network that teaches and gives comfort to people. It’s more than pretty houses. That’s something we are proud to be part of.”

Erin & Ben Napier Took Holidays & First Few Weeks of 2025 Off From Filming

The Napiers took only a few weeks off from filming in between their eighth and ninth seasons of “Home Town.” On December 17, Erin posted that they’d just wrapped the second half of season 8, bringing their grand total to 130 episodes filmed since 2016.

“I feel so lucky that my job is to tell happy stories about a place I love with the love of my life at work beside me every day,” she wrote. “Feeling so thankful for this production team and the work they do, and wishing I had taken more photos of everyone this year that don’t give away the reveals!”

They also have a third season of their spinoff, “Home Town Takeover,” set to premiere on March 9. Filmed in the spring of 2024, the Napiers revitalized the small town of Sebring, Florida, per an HGTV press release.
