Drew Scott Shares Epic Scottish Family Vacation Photos

Drew Scott is sharing family photos from his epic multi-generational summer vacation to Scotland!

In a new Instagram post, the HGTV star put up a carousel of photos from the Scottish vacation, writing, “Family trip with ages 1-91. Scotland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland. We had the most amazing experiences with the kiddos. Now I sleep.”

The first picture shows Drew holding his 3-year-old son Parker, standing beside his mom.

In a new episode of the podcast “Rodiculous,” the Property Brother talked about the trip, saying, “Imagine traveling, it was ten people. We had a one-year-old, a three-year-old, a 91-year-old, an 81-year-old and Linda’s parents as well,” he said on the podcast.

Drew went on, “It was a lot but we went to my dad’s hometown in Scotland. He’s from Scotland. It was a small town. And then we went and stayed in a castle. It was amazing. And I love touring castles. In fact, that’s what got me into architecture as a kid, seeing all these stone castles and the ruins as well.”

Drew Scott Says Childhood Trips to Scotland Changed His Life

Because the Scott brothers’ dad is from Scotland, the family has visited the country many times.

And Drew Scott says early trips not only awakened his interest in architecture, but inspired his interest in collecting.

Drew told podcaster Rosanna Pansino that seeing all the stone castles and ancient buildings set him on his career path.

“That’s also why I collect medieval armor and swords and old ancient coins. Because I used to be in these castles and I would reach my hand in every crevice and I would find old coins and buckles and things from a thousand years ago. I have a whole collection that is basically from those days as a 5-year-old or a 10-year-old exploring Scotland,” he revealed.

Drew Scott Incorporates Scotland Into His Creations

Drew Scott even honored Scotland when he designed a one-of-a-kind car.

In the “Rodiculous” podcast, Drew talked about his decision to design a car, explaining how he and a master mechanic built a custom car to look like a classic European car using a Tesla base.

“It was awesome for me because, my dad and I in Scotland, he used to point out all these beautiful, classic old cars that he loved. So I did it as a tribute to him. And I named the car after my dad’s hometown in Scotland, Lanark. So the car is a Lanark DS, my initials D-S, one-of-a-kind.”

That car quickly became a family affair. Drew revealed, “Going through the process, Linda designed the emblem for the vehicle, which is amazing. It ties into my dad’s from Scotland and also lived in the Rockies for decades so it’s a thistle and the Cascade Mountains from the Rockies. And the back of the seats are all our tartan, our plaid, it’s all of our clan’s tartan.”

Drew took Jay Leno for a spin in the custom car for an episode of “Jay Leno’s Garage”– or more accurately, Leno took the “Chasing the West” star for a spin, since Drew let the former talk show host take the wheel.
