HGTV confused fans in September 2024 by sharing that its newest series, “Divided By Design”, would take a “brief hiatus” in the middle of its freshman season. The series’ hosts, Miami design power couple Ray and Eilyn Jimenez, followed up with fans and shared that they’d be back in January 2025, but now the network has made the series return official.
The network shared a photo of the Jimenezes on Instagram on December 18. The couple appear to be listening to a phone call in the photo, which the network captioned, “[INCOMING CALL FROM: Santa Claus] ‘You’ve managed to stay on The Nice List all year long! As such, your reward is new episodes of #DividedByDesign, starting [Thursday, January 16 at 10 p.m. Eastern]!!'”
“Divided By Design” follows Ray and Eilyn as they run separate, competing interior design firms in Miami. Each episode sees the couple bid on the same jobs against one another. After the client decides whose designs to proceed with, viewers will get to see the renovations completed and the visions brought to life.
Fans React to ‘Divided By Design’ Return
“Divided By Design” has already aired five of its first season’s nine episodes. While fans wait for the remaining four episodes to begin airing on HGTV on Thursday nights, they can catch up on the first half of the show’s premiere season, which is now streaming on Max.
Fans took to the network’s comment section to share their reactions to the show’s confirmed return to their screens, with one user writing, “Love their show! They are the cutest couple. I hope the new season will show their new house. I can tell by the few in progress peeks they gave, that it will be gorgeous!”

This is ‘Divided By Design’s 2nd Major Scheduling Change
This is not the first time the network has made changes to the “Divided By Design” airing schedule. HGTV originally announced the show would premiere in June 2024, but after the planned premiere date came and went, the network shared an update in July 2024 sharing that the show’s first episode was pushed back to Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
