HGTV Stars Ben & Erin Napier Have the Sweetest First Kiss Story

HGTV “Home Town Takeover” stars Ben and Erin Napier are helping the town of Sebring, Florida in season 3. In the first episode, the two took a cute trip down memory lane as they recalled having a peach-flavored first kiss.

During the “Home Town Takeover” episode, Erin notes, “We’ve got four months to change a small town. We’re going to make it alive in places it hasn’t been alive in a long time. This is going to be our biggest challenge ever.”

While working on renovating the soda shop, Sebring Soda, Ben brought Erin a drink and they reminisced about their first kiss. The couple, who met in college, revealed that during their first date, they shared a sweet drink — and a smooch.

“The night we went on our first date, we stopped at a gas station and he got a peach soda, our favorite, and we shared it,” Erin said. “We were headed back to the dorm, he was going to drop me off, and then he said, ‘Would it be alright with you if I gave you a kiss?'”

She added, “That was our first kiss. It tasted like peach soda.”

HGTV posted the clip on Instagram and fans were smitten with the romantic story. “Aww so cute. Ben & Erin are old fashioned goodness,” one person commented. Another person noted, “Everything about Ben & Erin is cute.”

“My favorite part of the whole episode!” one fan noted. “I love when you guys share little glimpses of your love story!”

‘We Fell Hard for Each Other’

In a November 2018 article for Guideposts magazine, Erin explained how she and Ben first met at Jones County Junior College. According to the HGTV star, she saw a very different future for herself at the time.

“I figured I’d be an art director for a publisher in a big city far away. Ben was a fledgling history major who volunteered on every committee on campus,” Erin wrote.

She continued, “I was quiet and shy, not seeking out the limelight that seemed to belong to him. He was tall (six foot six) and broad-shouldered, bearded and magnetic without ever letting it go to his head.”

Erin added, “We fell for each other hard over the course of six days and soon after transferred to Ole Miss. And that’s where we got married on a cold November day.”
