Photos & Synopsis for Tonight’s Episode
The synopsis for tonight’s new episode reads: “The land dispute around McGinty’s Meadow comes to a head. Hickam and Mei throw a harvest festival for the town. Elizabeth helps Emily find her purpose.”
Here are a few select press photos that best reveal what will be happening.
First, it looks like Melissa Gilbert is back, and things may be heating up between her character and Bill Avery.

She’s also spending time with the rest of the town for a festival.

Elizabeth and Nathan will share some more sweet moments together.

Along with Mike and Mei as they throw a special town festival.

It’s possible that we might finally be at the episode that tests Elizabeth and Nathan, at least based on cast interviews.
Kevin McGarry said a big challenge is coming for Nathan and Elizabeth that is “very poignant” to the 1921 timeframe.
“Not only does it shatter their world, it shatters the entire community,” McGarry told Swooon.
“It’s intense,” Erin Krakow agreed in the same interview.
In a separate interview with The Edify Show, Krakow and McGarry also revealed that they changed the script for season 12 episode 7. Their duet was originally supposed to be something entirely different than what fans got to watch.
Originally, the script for season 12 episode 7 had Nathan and Elizabeth singing “For Me and My Gal.”
“And then Erin and I kind of talked,” McGarry recalled. It was too fast. We wanted one that was a bit slower. And we wanted one that was more to Nathan and Elizabeth’s story. So we switched to ‘You Made Me Love You.’”
