Wes Brown Confirms He’s Filming Hallmark’s ‘Haul Out the Holly 3’

Longtime Hallmark Channel star Wes Brown will spend Mother’s Day 2025 focused on a different holiday — Christmas.

At the star-studded May 1 luncheon celebrating Hallmark’s new series “The Motherhood,” Brown confirmed to People that he’s pumped to co-star with Lacey Chabert in their third “Haul Out the Holly” movie. As previously reported by EntertainmentNow, the cast and crew — including director Maclain Nelson — will reunite in Utah to film their latest adventure.

It will be Brown’s second consecutive Hallmark Christmas movie filmed this spring, given that he just wrapped another with Broadway alum Ginna Claire Mason.

Wes Brown Says He ‘Can’t Wait’ to Be Back With ‘Haul Out the Holly’ Cast

Confirming that filming is set to begin in May on “Haul Out the Holly 3,” Brown told People, “We’re about to go do the third one right now, so that’s what I’ll be missing Mother’s Day for.”

The outlet said reported Brown said he “can’t wait” to “get back with that cast and that group of actual characters, literally and figuratively.”

The first “Haul Out the Holly” comedy aired as part of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas programming in 2022. The second, “Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up” premiered the next year. After a break from the action, the third movie is expected to be part of Hallmark’s 2025 Countdown to Christmas lineup.

Production Weekly first reported on October 10 that “Haul Out the Holly 3” had been greenlit. The following day, Moviedelic revealed that Chabert and Brown would return, as well Stephen Tobolowsky as Ned, Ellen Travolta as Mary Louise, and Melissa Peterman as Pamela. Peterman’s spending lots of time in Utah lately, given that she’s also filming the second season of “Finding Mr. Christmas” there, as the lead judge.

Brown acknowledged to People that while he’s happy to be back with everyone, he’s also bummed to be away from his wife Amanda, whom he married in 2008. The two share teen daughter Merribeth.

“Fortunately and unfortunately, but mostly, unfortunately, I won’t be here for Mother’s Day,” he told People. “I’ll be off for work, so I’ll be able to send a nice bouquet of flowers or something.”

Wes Brown Just Finished Filming Another Hallmark Christmas Movie & Recording New Holiday Song

When Brown arrives to film in Salt Lake City, he may already be in the holiday spirit, given that it will be the second Christmas movie he’s filmed in 2025.

As EntertainmentNOW previously reported, Brown and Mason wrapped filming “Newport Christmas” in early April. The duo began filming their time travel movie in Buffalo, according to Western New York Public Broadcasting. On April 8, the production moved to Newport, Rhode Island, where Mason was photographed filming outside Bowen’s Wharf.

Brown told People on May 1, “It’s gonna be a really cool time travel piece. It’s so, so beautifully shot. And we have some new music coming out maybe along with the movie as well.”

Over the last week, Mason and Brown both shared glimpses on Instagram as they recorded a new Christmas song at a Nashville recording studio. Both Hallmark stars are accomplished musicians and recently released their own Christmas albums.

Fans won’t have to wait till Christmas to see either star on Hallmark Channel, though. Mason’s “Hats Off to Love” premieres on May 3 and Brown’s “Love on the Danube: Love Song” makes its Hallmark Channel debut on May 17 after premiering last fall on Hallmark+.
