Tyler Hynes Embraces Father’s Day Wishes & Takes Beloved ‘Son’ to Work

Hallmark star Tyler Hynes seemed to have a wonderful Father’s Day, thanks to supportive greetings from fans and an opportunity to take his “son” to work with him.

Hynes does not have any human children. However, he does have a dog he adores named Rusty James, and he regularly refers to Rusty as his son. Hallmark fans are quite accustomed to seeing Rusty pop up in Hynes’ social media posts, and Father’s Day was no exception.

On June 15, Hynes shared two photos of Rusty on his Instagram page and wrote in the caption, “Bring your son to work day.” In both photos, Rusty sat on a carpeted step, looking handsome while wearing an animal-print tie.

In the second photo Hynes included, Rusty stood next to an artsy framed picture of himself. Hynes also added a comment thanking his fans for all of the “fur-ther’s day wishes.”

Fans filled the comment section of Hynes’ Instagram post with sweet remarks.

One fan wrote, “Rusty is looking dapper! Happy Furry Father’s Day! I’m celebrating furry Father’s Day as well with my 3 pups!!”

Another commented, “RJ looking adorable as always. I think daddy needs a matching tie!”

“Cuteness overload. Put that boy in a movie,” suggested someone else.

Jaymes Vaughan, who is married to Hynes’ friend and Hallmark co-star Jonathan Bennett, commented with a string of heart-eyed emojis.

One fan suggested that Rusty was a “style icon” due to his tie, and another mentioned they would love to see Rusty pop up in a movie with Hynes.

In March, Hynes celebrated Rusty’s birthday and thanked fans for celebrating along with him. In an Instagram post honoring the big day, the Hallmark star wrote, “Rusty Thanos Apollo Hercules Achilles James is 5 yrs young.”

Hynes noted that it was “a wild and lovely thing” that fans “celebrate this man’s birthday along with me. The video he shared included moments fans had saved that highlighted Rusty over the years.

“All the moments you’ve saved over the years and shared yesterday have a way of putting his life in perspective and perspective is the greatest gift of all, so thank you,” Hynes added.
