Though it’s probably hard for Hynies to imagine, Hallmark fan-favorite Tyler Hynes doesn’t always get it right when filming his swoon-worthy kissing scenes.
On April 8, 2025, Hynes shared a hilarious 2022 video in his Instagram Stories that one of his diehard fans found in her archives and posted for “Tyler Tuesday” — an online tradition that has fans posting videos, memes, and tributes each Tuesday for Hynes, who’s starred in more than 20 Hallmark movies, per IMDb. In the video, he tells the story of a kissing scene gone wrong in one of his earliest projects with the network.
Tyler Hynes Says Taylor Cole Tripped During Their Kissing Scene
Over the unearthed video of Hynes speaking on a panel at Christmas Con Pasadena in 2022, fan Sylvia Gallegos wrote, “Oh my goodness…look what I just found on my phone. I didn’t realize I recorded this incredible story!”
Sitting by actors Autumn Reeser and Jesse Metcalfe, Hynes told the crowd, “One of the first movies I did was with a lovely human being named Taylor Cole — you guys know Taylor Cole?”
Given that Cole has starred in nearly 20 Hallmark movies, including 2024’s “A Reason for the Season,” the audience cheered in response.
“Yeah, so when we were doing our kissing scene,” Hynes said, “there was a moment when she was leaning into kiss me and I thought we’d kind of done our thing and were wrapping it up. And I sort of leaned back, and she just kept coming forward.”
Reeser and the crowd laughed, and Hynes continued, “I wasn’t sure what was happening. But what I realized was … she was tripping over something that was on the ground, and so I was kind of catching her with my face.”
Cindy Busby, who co-starred with Hynes in 2019’s “My Boyfriend’s Back: Wedding March 5,” was also on the panel and joked, “Wait, are you the reason I was tripping so much (on set)?”
“Probably,” Hynes said dryly, and then added, “The movie was called ‘Falling For You’ so I don’t know if she was…”
As the crowd laughed loudly, Hynes said, “I was confused. When they called ‘cut,’ I was like, ‘What? What’s happening??'”

Tyler Hynes Advocated for Steamy Kissing Scene in ‘A Picture of Her’
HallmarkFans always get a kick out of Hynes sharing inside details on his kissing scenes, including a particularly steamy moment with Rhiannon Fish in 2023’s “A Picture of Her,” before the onscreen couple hops on his motorcycle.
Hynes joked to TV Fanatic, “Yeah, there’s some COVID being passed in those kisses for sure.”
“That final scene was something that wasn’t originally there,” he told the outlet about the duo’s final kiss in the film. “And I was like, ‘Look guys, I think we’re missing an opportunity here. I know legally it’s tough to get Rhiannon on the back of the bike with me, but there’s something to the image of the simplicity of her and I, just in that moment together, that’s sort of deeply simple and romantic.'”
“And “I’m really glad that we found the time and energy to be able to make that last sort of shot and sequence happen,” he said, “because I think it book ends the movie in a nice way and gives you a nice lasting image that can stay with you.”
Fish had no complaints, telling Just Jared at the time, “There’s a lot of kisses! I sound like a little giggling school girl … but I’ve done, I’ve done a few of these Hallmark movies now and there used to just sort of be where there was, like, the one big kiss at the end. Now, there’s like a midway kiss and the end kiss in this movie. Like, Tyler and I kissed a few times.”
“That was a surprise and it was a welcome surprise,” she continued. “I was really happy about it.”
