Tyler Hynes Surprises Fans With Christmas Eve Event [EXCLUSIVE]

“No Hynie left behind.” That’s the heartfelt motto driving Tyler Hynes to deliver a special surprise for his fans on Christmas Eve. In an exclusive conversation with EntertainmentNOW, Hynes revealed why he’s adding a second, last-minute boot shot live stream to his busy schedule. The bonus event takes place today on Christmas Eve, December 24, at 12 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Central). It will be held in the Tyler Hynes Official Enthusiasts Club Facebook group — a private community of 22,000 dedicated fans.

This surprise event comes in response to some fans feeling left out after his initial boot shot event on December 23 aired on his official Instagram page rather than Facebook, where it had been previously held. With this thoughtful gesture, Hynes is ensuring his fans that everyone gets a chance to celebrate the holiday season with him.

For those unfamiliar with the boot shot tradition, it’s a fun, casual moment where Hynes shares a toast with his fans. The tradition involves making a toast together with a tiny boot-shaped shot glass, commemorating the year that’s just passed.

Tyler Hynes Wants to Make Sure There’s ‘No Hynie Left Behind’

In an exclusive statement to EntertainmentNOW, Hynes revealed exactly why he’s spending part of Christmas Eve with his fans for a second boot shot event.

“Because my Instagram is public and verified, I thought this a safe place to do the boot shot so no one would feel left out, seeing that the Facebook page is private to keep out the scammers,” Hynes told EntertainmentNOW. “It’s always my attempt to include everyone. But I understand some folks choose to only exist on social media there on that (FB) page. So (that’s) why I’m spending Christmas Eve on the Hynies Facebook page… No Hynie left behind.”

The Hynies Facebook group he’s referencing is technically known as the Tyler Hynes Official Enthusiasts Club. While the boot shot event has been hosted there in the past, Hynes has not been able to get his page verified on Facebook. Verification is an important step on Facebook to ensure followers can easily tell Hynes’ authentic account from the many fake profiles on the platform.

To ensure fans knew they were in the right place, Hynes hosted his boot shot event on Instagram this year, where his account is verified. However, he was quick to note during his live stream how much he appreciates the Facebook group and all the work they have done to help fans feel welcome and informed.

The announcement of a second boot shot event is just another example of Hynes’ dedication to his fans. While his Instagram live stream on December 23 drew a wide audience, the Hallmark star wanted to make sure his Facebook community—many of whom have supported him for years—could also feel the holiday cheer.

Hynes’ Instagram Stream Had Cameos with Two Co-Stars

Hynes’ Instagram stream was attended by more than 1,600 people, he revealed during the event. His dog Rusty even made a brief appearance wearing a Santa hat.

The event included surprise appearances with Jonathan Bennett and B.J. Britt, his co-stars in “The Groomsmen” trilogy on Hallmark+.

Britt shared his enthusiasm for being part of such a close-knit family of co-stars.

“This right here it’s pure gold, it’s bliss,” Britt commented during the stream. “…Anytime I know we’re going to get together… I’m over the moon, I’m ecstatic… I can honestly say that you just make my heart leap for joy.”

Hynes’ live stream on December 23 showcased the star’s trademark humor and warmth, as he shared stories and took time to interact directly with his fans. He thanked fans at Christmas Con for their patience when he lost his voice, and shared his gratefulness for the kind words about his new holiday movies. In addition to starring in “The Groomsmen” trilogy, Hynes also starred in “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” and “Three Wiser Men & a Boy.” He also made multiple appearances in a variety of conventions and venues.

“I don’t know if I would’ve been able to do this year without that amount of love and support,” he told his fans during his Instagram event. “It’s been an undertaking to say the least.”

The boot shot tradition actually began when Hynes did the “Winter in Vail” movie, he told HOLR Magazine. After the movie wrapped, the cast had dinner at a German restaurant where they were shown little glass boots they could use to take a shot. He bought everyone a little boot, along with a few extras for family and friends. That began a tradition where every Christmas, his friends take photos of themselves taking shots with their boots and send them to him. They also hang the little boots on their trees.

His fans wanted to join in on the tradition, Just Jared reported. So he held a Facebook Live event where they could take photos of themselves taking a shot during the stream. The next year, he designed his own boot shot that fans could purchase so they can have little boot shot glasses of their own. And the tradition has grown from there.

For those wanting a boot shot for next year’s event, they are available on Hynes’ online shop. The boot shot box includes five clear boot shot glasses, including four to share with family and friends.
