Tyler Hynes Just Said 6 Little Words & We’re Pretty Sure the Earth Moved

Did you feel that? Notice that little rumble beneath your feet? There’s been no official data reported, but Hallmark heartthrob Tyler Hynes uttered six little words in an interview with Swooon on July 15, 2025 — no doubt with a twinkle in his eye and signature toothpick in his mouth — and we’re pretty sure it caused some Hallmark hunk-induced seismicity.

Hynes’ simple but swoon-worthy quote — “there’s nothing like falling in love” — surely caused a collective sigh across the U.S. strong enough to make the earth move. But the reason he said it could cause Hynies (the nickname for his fanbase) to tense right up again.

Tyler Hynes Teases That It Would ‘Maybe’ Be Fun to Revisit ‘It Was Always You’ (MAYBE?)

When Hynes said “there’s nothing like falling in love,” he was responding for the millionth time to the question of whether a Hallmark sequel is possible for his hugely popular 2021 rom-com with Erin Krakow, “It Was Always You.” The movie follows regimented Elizabeth, trying to figure out who she is and what she wants, when her fiancé’s free-spirited brother, David, comes along and rocks her world.

The duo’s chemistry was top-notch, so a sequel has been on every Hynie’s Christmas wish list since the movie premiered. But in his chat with Swooon, Hynes adorably tried to suggest that a sequel wouldn’t really be all that great.

“I think it’s funny because with the sequels, it won’t have the same impact as the initial because there’s nothing like falling in love,” he told the outlet. “There’s nothing like that.”

Hynes did add, however, “But there’s things that are very close, and I think if yourself and others who have really voiced that opinion long enough, then maybe that will be. Maybe that will be in the cards. I think it would be fun to maybe explore that.”

Hynes played coy with Swooon, knowing full well that diehard Hynies have been dissecting posts and Instagram Stories made by him and Krakow in June, as they were both filming a Christmas movie in Vancouver, with very similar set designs. Something’s up and the Hynies know it.

Tyler Hynes Says Hallmark Fans Frequently See Their Biggest Wishes ‘Materialize’

Both Hynes and Krakow have shared past hopes about getting to work together, including Krakow telling People in early 2024, “I would be very, very happy for us to have a sequel to ‘It Was Always You’ … If not a sequel, just another opportunity for Tyler and I to reunite on something. He’s a great, great guy and so fun to work with and I think people really enjoyed that chemistry. So let’s do it again.”

Talking with Swooon, Hynes said that he’s confident that Hallmark always finds a way to deliver what the fans want — much like the network has with the just-announced third movie in the “Three Wise Men” franchise starring him, Andrew Walker, and Paul Campbell.

“When people raise their voice about these things, solutions do come about,” he said. “‘It Was Always You’ and Erin and I working together is something that has been shared for quite some time, and though the wheels in charge may sometimes take a minute, we do get there.”

“I think (Hallmark is) a small enough, little family-run thing that it happens more than other places,” Hynes added. “I think the audience can ask for whatever they want, and it will most likely materialize.”
