Hallmark’s Taylor Cole Gushes Over ‘Double Scoop’ Castmates, Including a Goat With Fleas (EXCLUSIVE)

With more than 20 Hallmark movies to her name, actress Taylor Cole has done it all — co-starring with the most beloved Hallmark hunks, filming in every climate, and solving crimes in her “Ruby Herring Mysteries” franchise.

But filming Hallmark Channel’s new “Double Scoop” — premiering on August 23, 2025 — came with some firsts for Cole, including the chance to work with farm animals. Cole told EntertainmentNow ahead of the premiere how much she adored all her castmates, both the human-kind and the furry kind — including a goat with fleas.

Taylor Cole Says Entire ‘Double Scoop’ Cast Was ‘So Much Fun to Play With’

In “Double Scoop,” Cole plays ad exec Nora, who “discovers the best ice cream and hopes to land them as a client,” per Hallmark’s logline. Co-starring Ryan McPartlin, Nora’s “sweet dreams hit a snag when her former colleague James has the same idea. Old sparks begin to melt the frosty tension.”

The new movie brought some fun reunions for Cole, who told EntertainmentNow she “loved” reuniting with director Peter Sullivan and his production company, Hybrid, years after working together on her second Hallmark movie, 2016’s “My Summer Prince.”

Meanwhile, she and McPartlin hadn’t filmed together since a 2012 episode of “CSI: Miami.” She laughed while recalling, “I broke a bottle over his head and I think I killed him!”

The two hit it off immediately on the set of “Double Scoop,” posting behind-the-scenes videos of jokes and pranks in between takes. Cole told EntertainmentNow, “We had so many laughs, and he’s just a doll.”

Cole also gushed about cast members she got to work with for the first time, including 90s heartthrob Patrick Muldoon, comedian Chonda Pierce, and “Clueless” alum Elisa Donovan, whom Cole called an “iconic rock star.”

“I just love her to death,” Cole said. “She’s so good, I would do a spin-off with just her in it!”

Cole said that everyone added humor to the script, noting, “The whole ensemble cast was so much fun to play with. I love the comedy in these rom-coms. I like to play it up as much as humanly possible, because I want to make people laugh, and I want to help people escape whatever they’re going through. Getting those laughs in was really fun for this one, and everybody contributed to that.”

Taylor Cole Also Swooned Over Her Furry Castmates in ‘Double Scoop’

Adding to the charm of “Double Scoop,” which was filmed in part at the Fortner Farm in Birmingham, Alabama, are all of the adorable farm animals Cole got to work with.

“We were on a farm and I did a bunch of different, fun things that I never thought I would get the opportunity to do, which is so fun,” Cole told EntertainmentNow. “I love animals of all kinds, and I bottle-fed a calf, I milked a cow, I held a baby goat.”

Cole said she spent time with every animal she could, not even minding that the baby goat had fleas.

She laughed as she said, “I watched the fleas jump from him to me! The fleas were hopping all over, and I was like, ‘Oh boy, well, this is fun!’ But I got a photo with him, and I survived. It was so fun. But I feel like Ryan was having a complete opposite experience because he had allergies. He was, like, completely miserable, and I was totally in my element.”

“Double Scoop” premieres on August 23 at 8 p.m. Eastern time and will be available to stream the following day on Hallmark+.
