Hallmark Sets Premiere for New ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ Movie as Eric Mabius Shares Sunny Pic

For many months, POstables — Hallmark’s diehard fans of the “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” franchise — have been holding their breath, waiting to learn when Hallmark would premiere the second of two new movies filmed in 2024.

The mystery only grew when one of the beloved cast members, Eric Mabius, was arrested in early 2025 on charges for which he’s since pleaded not guilty, per Us Weekly. On March 19, Mabius shared his first Instagram post since January, uploading a beach photo of the sun shining on the water, but adding no text.

The very next day, on March 20, POstables were relieved and thrilled to see that Hallmark’s site had been updated to show “Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Moon and Back” will premiere April 26 on Hallmark Channel.

POstables Will Take a Road Trip in New ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ Movie

The cast of the “SSD” franchise — Mabius, Kristin Booth, Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe, and Geoff Gustafson, as well as supporting cast members Gregory Harrison and Rhiannon Fish — reunited in April 2024, after a nearly three year hiatus, to film two highly-anticipated movies. The first, “A Tale of Two Letters,” premiered on Hallmark Mystery in July.

POstables, nicknamed in honor of the crime-solving postal workers at the center of each mystery, had pleaded with Hallmark executives to revive the franchise, including coordinated letter-writing campaigns, since the last movie aired in October 2021.

As the cast reunited for filming, Hallmark Mystery posted a quick video of the four main actors together again for the first time, cheering as they greeted their online fans and let them know two movies — both penned by “SSD” creator and screenwriter Martha Williamson — were in the works. Hallmark did specify that one would be released in 2024, while the other would be saved for a 2025 release.

Although Hallmark Channel did air a one-season “SSD” series in 2013, the network opted to move forward with the franchise by producing individual mystery movies instead, per Parade.

“To The Moon and Back” will be the 15th movie in the franchise. According to Hallmark’s new posting about the movie, “The POstables take a road trip to find the recipient of a lost letter and track down a musician who is the key to solving the case.”

Rather than premiere on Hallmark Mystery, “To The Moon and Back” is slated for a Hallmark Channel premiere on April 26 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Eric Mabius Posts Rays of Sunshine Ahead of ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ Premiere News

Many fans had worried that the movie’s premiere would be further delayed after news of Mabius’ February 20 arrest spread quickly after the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office released the “Ugly Betty” alum’s mugshot.

Mabius, 53, was taken into custody for “simple battery and resisting arrest without violence,” per the Sheriff’s Office, after a bar fight that involving several patrons in Yulee, Florida. No serious injuries were reported, and a woman who was “pushed” to the ground by Mabius during the incident declined to press charges.

One month after the incident, Mabius posted his sunny photo — his first post since sharing a photo of the moon on January 13. The actor disabled comments on many of his previous posts, but many fans were able to share words of gratitude and awe over his latest pic.

Meanwhile, POstables have been taking to social media with excitement over the premiere date release for “To The Moon and Back,” and even requesting that Hallmark start planning for more.

One fan tweeted, “FINALLY!!!! I want more movies if #SSD after this one! #POstables”
