Just over two months after actor Scott Wolf and his wife of 21 years, Kelley Wolf, announced their surprise split, the actor has opened up for the first time. On August 15, 2025, the “Party of Five” alum and Hallmark Channel fan-favorite spoke out via People and provided the outlet with texts he’s received from Kelley that have him worried.
In his first statement since confirming their divorce on June 11, Scott told People, “There are some significant challenges that are making our situation incredibly difficult and contentious, and it is tragic for all involved. I was informed of some deeply disturbing and entirely false allegations that were made about me by my estranged wife.”
In the weeks since the Wolfs announced their split, Kelley — who rose to fame on MTV’s “The Real World” in 2001 — has been placed under two involuntary holds at psychiatric hospitals, per People, and Scott was granted temporary custody of their three children.
Scott Wolf Releases Text in Which Kelley Wolf Says She’ll Make Up Accusations About Him
The Wolfs both signed an agreement on July 15, according to Us Weekly, that would grant Kelley, 48, supervised visits with their kids — ages 16, 14, and 11. It also included a gag order that forbade both of them from speaking publicly about their split or their kids.
But after Scott, 57, received multiple private texts from Kelley that left him dumbfounded and nervous, he told People he was “now choosing to come forward and share that she has described to me her plans to ‘make claims’ about me, although she also admitted, ‘I do not believe they’re true,’ in order to gain an advantage in what she sees as a ‘battle’ in court, and in the court of public opinion.”
“In order to protect my kids,” he continued, “I am providing the text messages she sent to me where she describes this plan, so there are no questions about her intentions, or the malicious intent behind her false allegations made and/or planned for the future.”
Scott provided text messages to People that he said were sent to him by Kelley. The outlet reported that among the messages, Kelley said she “was advised to make claims that are possible, even though I do not believe they’re true nor would I ever say them to anyone.”
Pointing to a restraining order that Scott was granted from late June through mid-July, Kelley told him in her texts that the accusations he included when filing for protection “made me into a villain.”
“The only way I can fight back is to produce claims that are either the same as yours or greater,” Kelley wrote in one text, per People, and included examples “such as psychological abuse, child abuse, child endangerment, stealing with passports.” The strategy, she texted, was to “create more urgency to get the kids back. Or at least get back joint custody.”
People magazine also received a recording of a 911 call Kelley made on July 26, repeating some of those allegations to police.
Kelley Wolf Says She Has ‘Literally Lost Everything’ Amid Divorce From Scott Wolf
When People reached out to Kelley about the texts Scott released, she told the outlet, “I will be very clear when I say this: I don’t believe that Scott would (abuse our children). I’ve lost my career, my reputation, my children, my integrity, my honor, my devotion to my marriage. As a parent, I have literally lost everything except my life. I’ve done everything strategic, and I’m hopeful for my children.”
Scott, meanwhile, told People that his “continued hope is to have this most difficult chapter of our family’s lives remain as private as possible, however, the well being of my children is at stake, and that will always be my priority.”
Despite the gag order in their agreement, Kelley has been very vocal on social media since news of her impending divorce. She’s vacillated from insisting she was “very, very happy” about being out of her marriage to decrying the psychiatric holds and, on multiple occasions, claiming she had no money. Kelley also filmed herself trying to access her family’s home in Utah, which Scott and the kids have been given exclusive use of via the custody agreement.
The former life coach has been staying in a myriad of rented homes and hotel rooms since splitting from Scott, sharing her latest abode in photos uploaded to her Instagram Stories on August 13.
“This feels like home…” Kelley wrote over a photo of her vehicle parked in the driveway. “I think I may stake my claim… As in…I’m feeling great. Ready to make my ‘debut’ … As myself .. ha! I seem to have confused some people? Oops… I did it again. Hey @britneyspears I love you girl…”
She added, “Comin to LA LA land … to work and maybe dip my sore feet in the ocean!”
