Hallmark actress and “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Sarah Drew rocked two different looks at the American Heart Association’s 2025 Red Dress Collection Concert on January 30 in New York City. The “Mistletoe Murders” star appeared at the star-studded event in honor of her dad, a heart attack survivor.
“Heart disease runs in my family so for me, this is personal,” Drew said in an Instagram video she posted on February 1 about why she participated in the special evening. “I’m here tonight in honor of my dad, who is a heart attack survivor. I am so lucky that I didn’t lose him, and I’m happy to say he’s doing amazing today.”
EntertainmentNOW was on-hand to capture Drew’s red-hot looks at the annual AHA event, which was hosted by renowned actress and stroke survivor Sharon Stone to kick off American Heart Month and raise awareness in the fight against cardiovascular disease, the number one killer of women, per the AHA.
Sharon Stone Tells Fellow Stars ‘It’s an Honor’ to Call Them Friends
Each celebrity participant in AHA’s Red Dress event was there because she has been impacted by heart disease or stroke, either personally or with family and friends. They each paraded out on stage in red fashion statements to the songs of their choice, and the audience was also treated to performances by musical guests Sara Bareilles and Suki Waterhouse.
Other celebrity participants included another Hallmark actress, “The Chicken Sisters” star Wendie Malick, as well as actress and talk show host Busy Phillips, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams, and country star Carly Pearce.
Following Stone’s stroke in 2001, she was given little chance of surviving and couldn’t even write her own name when she was released from the hospital, she told People. At the end of the evening, she spoke about how meaningful it was to connect with other stars committed to building awareness with the AHA, as seen in the video above captured by EntertainmentNOW.
“What a night,” Stone said. “I’d just like to say many of these women I have known and met before. The rest of you, I’d like to call you friends from this moment on. We share in something that I think makes us friends from now forward and it’s an honor — a deep, abiding, real honor.”
In the video Drew shared, she reiterated why it was important for her to get involved, explaining, “It is so important to know your family history so you can discuss your unique risk factors with your healthcare provider. That is why I am proud to stand with Go Red for Women and help raise awareness of heart disease and stroke.”
Sarah Drew Busted a Move at Lincoln Center for Red Dress Event
In another video that Drew shared, she could be seen having a blast, grooving to the beat at Lincoln Center in her second gown of the evening — a Rami Al Ali dress that Women’s Wear Daily noted for its flamenco flair. Drew told “Entertainment Tonight” that the dress made her feel “like one of the heroines in my romantasy novels” and “like a queen.”
Earlier, on the red carpet, Drew wore an off-the-shoulder pink-and-red number by designer Peggy Hartanto, per the AHA.
Drew captioned a video of her entrance by writing, “It’s a fashion show, they said. You walk a catwalk, they said. You also get to pick your music, they said. So this is your cat walking model. You’re welcome. You guys, When the music asks for dancing, I must deliver. 🤣🤣🤣 Truly truly the best night ever at at the @goredforwomen #RedDressCollection Concert.”
