‘Royal-ish’ Was Filmed in Ireland

“Royal-ish” was filmed in County Wicklow, Ireland, according to 4filming.com. County Wicklow, known as the “Garden of Ireland,” is famous for its breathtaking landscapes. It’s also home to Glendalough, a stunning glacial valley with monastic ruins.

“Royal-ish” was also filmed at Killruddery House on Southern Cross Rd, Kilruddery Demesne West, Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, according to 4filming. According to Killruddery’s website, it’s an 800-acre estate that is privately-owned and can be rented out for a variety of venues. The website also notes that the original House was destroyed in 1645 and rebuilt in 1651 by the 2nd Earl of Meath. The 10th Earl of Meath did a major reconstruction in the 1820s.

Actress Emily Swain took to Instagram to share her excitement about the movie. 

She wrote, in part: “Exciting! The movie is based on Teri Wilson’s book, “Once Upon a Royal Summer.”

Meet the Cast

Hallmark’s synopsis reads “Lacey is an amusement park princess who befriends 8-year-old Rose, a real-life princess, and is recruited by her handsome father to travel to their kingdom and be the new governess.”

Nichole Sakura is Lacey. According to her bio, she voiced Suzume in the animated movie “Suzume.” She also has a lead role in “Please Don’t Destroy,” and is a lead in the Hulu series “Maggie.” She also starred in “Superstore” for six seasons on NBC, and may be part of a spinoff that’s in development. She was a recurring character in “Shameless” and also was in “Teenage Cocktail,” “Man Up,” and “Project X.”

William Moseley is Henry. According to his bio, he was the lead in “Savage Lands,” starred in “On the Line” opposite Mel Gibson, and “Raven’s Hollow” on Amazon Prime. Other credits include “Saving Paradise,” “Medieval,” “The Courier,” “The Royals,” “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” as Peter (and in the two sequels).
