Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas lineup may be over, but the new lineup for 2025 is just beginning. This week’s lineup includes two highly anticipated series premieres, a new dating reality series, and the kickoff of Hallmark’s “Winter Escape” January films.
Hallmark Channel’s Premieres This Week
January is a big month for the Hallmark Channel. While Hallmark Mystery doesn’t have much in its lineup yet, the Hallmark Channel has three major premieres for the first week of 2025.
‘The Way Home’ Season 3 Premiere – Friday, January 3 at 9 p.m. Eastern
Season 3 of “The Way Home” is moving to Friday nights this year and premiering the first episode on January 3 at 9 p.m. Eastern (one hour later than Hallmark is premiering its Winter Escape movies on Saturday nights.)
(The trailer before is from the W Network in Canada, which is premiering the new season on January 5.)
Hallmark had originally planned to air the new season exclusively on Hallmark+, followed by a later date in the fall of 2025 on the Hallmark Channel. But after pushback from fans, Hallmark announced that it will be airing each new episode on Friday nights this January rather than delaying the show.
The first episode is titled “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.” The synopsis just reads: “New mysteries unfold across generations, as the Landry family looks to their past to find the truth.”
‘Love of the Irish’ — Saturday, January 4 at 8 p.m. Eastern
Starring Shenae Grimes-Beech, Stephen Hagan and Moira Kelly, this movie marks Hallmark’s first “Winter Escape” January film. (You may remember Grimes-Beech from “Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas.”)
The synopsis reads: “Tired of her bad luck, Fiona takes her mom on a trip to Ireland to turn things around where she meets a charming single dad who helps her make her own luck.”
‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 12 Premiere — Sunday, January 5 at 9 p.m. Eastern
The season 12 premiere of “When Calls the Heart” airs on Sunday, earlier than previous seasons had launched.
Hallmark’s synopsis reads: “Elizabeth receives a sentimental surprise in time for Little Jack’s first day of school. Nathan trains a new Mountie cadet. Rosemary and Lee make a landmark decision.”
A synopsis about the entire season reads: “In Season 12 of When Calls the Heart, love flourishes for schoolteacher Elizabeth Thornton and Mountie Nathan Grant as they embrace the joy of new romance. Reporter Rosemary Coulter and retired Mountie Bill Avery team up once again to investigate a train robbery, while Governor Lucas Bouchard and Mayor Lee Coulter quite literally find common ground. The community comes together to celebrate and support each other through a season of discovering passions, leaps of faith, and a whole lot of dancing.”
The first episode is titled “The Mountie Way.”
Hallmark+ Premieres This Week
Here’s what you can look forward to on Hallmark’s new premium streaming service.
‘Small Town Setup’ Premiere — Thursday, January 2
“Small Town Setup,” the dating reality show starring Ashley Williams, begins streaming its first episode on Thursday, January 2. The shows description reads: “An unsuspecting city dwelling single returns home to visit their small town parents, and is met with three potential dates. These suitors have been carefully selected by their parents and community, hopeful they will find love.”
The fun premise for this series focuses on the Hallmark trope of a big city single finding love in their small hometown. But for the reality series, parents and neighbors get together to try to find the right matches themselves.
The first episode’s description reads: “Victoria is a successful VP – but has not found true love yet. Her proud Italian-Puerto Rican family secretly reaches out to all of Peachtree City to help her find Mr. Right.”
Other Premieres
Hallmark+ will also be streaming the new episodes of “The Way Home” season 3 every Saturday, starting January 4, the day after they air on the Hallmark Channel.
“When Calls the Heart” will be handled the same way, with each new episode available for streaming on Mondays, the day after they air on the Hallmark Channel, starting January 6.
