Luke Macfarlane’s Newest Project Is About to Debut on Hallmark+

Hallmark star Luke Macfarlane is bringing his real-life passion to television screens with a new show. His new series, “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” debuts on Hallmark+ on March 20. He has promised it’ll be a fun and sweaty ride.

Luke Macfarlane Helps Families Freshen up Their Beloved Spaces

Parade noted on March 19 that “Home Is Where the Heart Is” provides a first for Hallmark, as it is their first home renovation show. However, an extra component woven into the new show gives it a traditional Hallmark feel.

Macfarlane works with designer Olivia Westbrooks to transform a home for a family. The homes they choose are special, though. As Parade shared, the homes are ones that were either inherited or have some sort of special meaning for the family.

The homes need a “facelift,” and as Parade detailed, Westbrooks and Macfarlane work to combine the present with the past for families. Their goal is to maintain the deep love the families have for the homes while also providing a refreshed space.

Viewers will find sentimentality prioritized throughout the renovation process, Parade noted. The families’ emotional connections to their spaces will be highlighted and considered in creating the updated space.

In a March 17 Instagram post teasing the new series, Westbrooks described Macfarlane as “an incredibly skilled woodworker.”

She added, “With a passion for craftsmanship and a knack for bringing stories to life–both on-screen and in the workshop–Luke is all about creating homes that feel as special as the people who live in them.”

“Luke brings his hands-on expertise to every project, helping to restore beloved spaces with heart, history, and a little elbow grease,” Westbrooks noted. She quipped that Macfarlane even gave her an opportunity to do some woodworking with him, “which was pretty hilarious.”

As for Westbrooks, she explained her “signature style” is “colorful, layered, and deeply personal,” and she aims to give families an updated home that is both beautiful and a space that reflects “the heart and spirit of the people [who] inhabit them.”

One fan commented, “Luke, I wish you and Olivia success on this new show. I have always loved your videos and posts of your woodworking talents.”

Another wrote, “Congratulations Luke and Olivia on the debut of your show this week. I signed up for Hallmark+ just so I could see this show. I love Luke’s movies and his woodworking posts – so talented!”
