One year after a magical proposal on a beach in Mallorca, Spain, Hallmark actress Celeste Desjardins and Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl are married!

The couple, both 29, married in a luxurious wedding in the south of France on August 2, 2025. The following day, Desjardins, who last starred in July 2024’s “An Ice Palace Romance” with Marcus Rosner, began sharing photos and videos from their wedding guests in her Instagram Stories.

Guests have been raving on social media about the wedding, held outside a gorgeous chateau in the south of France, with dinner tables set up under a canopy of trees.

The Offside shared a video of the couple’s first dance, originally posted by NHL player Connor McDavid’s wife, Lauren Kyle McDavid, who served as one of Desjardins’ maids of honor, according to Daily Hive. The video showed the newlyweds dancing to The Teskey Brothers’ “Take My Heart.”

Actress Sarah Fisher, who’s appeared in multiple Great American Family movies, was also part of the wedding party and shared multiple videos in her Stories, too. Several showed an after-party with a club scene that included bubbles, a DJ, and a neon red sign with “The Draisaitls” written out in cursive.

“Most magical day for the most magical couple,” Fisher wrote over one photo. “i love you both so much”

Hairstylist Allison Kam posted multiple photos and a video of Desjardins posing in multiple dresses, including her low-cut champagne-colored bridal gown, during the wedding weekend.

Guest Bonnie Ryan, who’s married to Draisaitl’s former Edmonton Oilers teammate Derek Ryan, also posted numerous pics and videos in her Instagram Stories from the wedding, calling it “incredible,” and noting that “every single detail was just stunning.”

Celeste Desjardins & Leon Draisaitl Have Been Together for Nearly 9 Years

Desjardins and Draisaitl went Instagram official in June 2018, when Desjardins posted a photo of them together with a single red heart emoji. But they’ve been together for close to a decade. In November 2023, she posted a TikTok montage of videos of them together, captioning the post, “7 years ❤️.”

Desjardins, who has also appeared in Hallmark’s three “Flower Shop Mysteries” movies, an episode of “Good Witch,” and the 2015 Hallmark movie “Lead With Your Heart,” was born in Ontario, Canada, per IMDb.

Draisaitl was born in Cologne, Germany, where his dad played professional hockey, according to NHL.com. The family eventually moved to Canada, where Draisaitl played in the Western Hockey League, per the website, before joining the Oilers as the No. 3 pick in the 2014 NHL draft.

Draisaitl planned out his July 11, 2024, proposal with help from wedding event planner Christina von Hunnius, who put together a romantic scene on the beach in Spain. Florist Nadja Rothkirch was also involved and posted videos in her Instagram stories of the picturesque setting, as well as a photo that showed the proposal happened just beyond an old lighthouse overlooking the sea.

The couple will stay in Edmonton for the foreseeable future. In September, Desjardins cheered her now-husband’s decision to stay with the Oilers after the team announced a historic $112 million extension deal with the star center, per ESPN.
