Lacey Chabert and Jennifer Love Hewitt may have an onscreen reunion, if Hewitt has anything to say about it. Parade reported that Hewitt and Chabert would love to collaborate on a holiday film together someday. The exciting news comes as Hewitt’s first Christmas movie, “The Holiday Junkie,” nears its premiere on Lifetime on December 14.
Hewitt Would Love to Play Sisters in a Christmas Film
Chabert and Hewitt starred in “Party of Five” together from 1994 to 2000. Hewitt said she would love to star with Chabert in a Christmas movie, and has one specific idea in mind.
“I think we should play sisters,” she told Parade. “For years, everybody’s always thought that we look very similar. I think that would be really fun, to play sisters at Christmas… Netflix, send it our way, we’re ready… I think that would be really fun.”
Hewitt went on to reveal that she watches 40 to 50 Christmas movies every year, including all of Chabert’s Christmas films.
“I’m her [Lacey’s] biggest supporter,” she told Parade. “She’s the queen of Christmas. I just watched ‘Hot Frosty,’ which I loved, on Netflix, and I loved the ‘Haul Out the Holly’ movies.”
Chabert’s a big supporter of Hewitt too. When the trailer for Hewitt’s new movie “Holiday Junkie” premiered, Chabert shared it on her Instagram Story and wrote about how excited she was for her colleague and friend.
This will be Hewitt’s first movie on Lifetime since 2010. (She last starred in a Hallmark movie just a year later in 2011.) She’ll be both starring in and directing the new Lifetime film, which inspired by her own real-life story, Deadline reported. It’s about a woman who has to keep her decorating service going after her mom dies, and manages to find love in the process. Hewitt’s husband, Brian Hallisay, is co-starring and her children will make appearances.
Chabert’s New Hallmark Movie Premieres on Sunday, December 1
Chabert’s new Hallmark Christmas movie with Kristoffer Polaha premieres on Sunday, December 1. Called “The Christmas Quest,” the movie has a unique storyline.
Hallmark’s synopsis reads: “An archeologist and her ex-husband, an expert in ancient Norse languages, are sent to Iceland at Christmastime to search for the legendary treasure of the Yule Lads. When others join in the hunt, the pair find themselves swept into a thrilling adventure as they race to keep it from falling into the wrong hands.”
