One month after “Doc” star and Hallmark Channel fan favorite Scott Wolf, 57, confirmed he had filed for divorce from his wife of 21 years, Kelley Wolf, she posted a series of unsettling Instagram Stories on the night of July 12, 2025.
Kelley, 48, who rose to fame on MTV’s “The Real World” in 2000, shared photos of bruises on her arm and vulnerably asked for help, writing that she’d been placed under a second involuntary hold and was missing her kids, whom she lost temporary custody of in late June.
The Stories she shared were a stark shift from just one day prior, when Kelley posted an upbeat video as she helped a local florist who had a flat tire, reminding people that “kindness matters.”

Early in the day on July 12, Kelley shared multiple upbeat videos from other accounts to her Instagram Stories, from a pretty Parisian flower shop to a hiking trail in Utah, where the Wolfs live. She also shared a Story from the woman she helped on the side of the road the previous day, who called Kelley “my fairy godmother and warrior mama.”
But by evening, Kelley’s Stories took a dramatic turn. She posted a shocking photo in her Instagram Stories of bruises on her inner left arm and wrote, “I was held for 7 days and they tried to keep me for 90. I will not be quiet anymore.”
“I cannot be quiet anymore,” she reiterated, and then continued, “This is from the police. I will get myself safe but I’m asking for help. Thrown downs stairs. Broke my wrist. Contusions on my head. I’m bruised everywhere and I literally was released last night. This is the SECOND time.”
“Summit county police took me from Sundance on July 6,” Kelley added. “I was in a hot tub. Placed me on an involuntary hold at Summit county behavioral health. The truth must be told.”
In her next Story, Kelley wrote in white text on a black background, “I love my kids. I’m not crazy. I need help. And I want my kids back. That’s all for now.”
“I am kind,” Kelley wrote in another Story. “I am a mother. I am a fighter. And I’ll never back down.”
Referencing the tagline of “The Real World,” she posted on another Story, “I will stop being polite…And start getting REAL if I have to. Because this is AMERICA.”
Kelley did not appear to have a cast on either wrist. She also did not share any visuals of the “contusions” on her head.

About an hour after Kelley’s series of Instagram Stories on the evening of July 12, she returned with several more, assuring her followers that she was okay but upset over how she’d been treated.
“Just so you all know….I’m safe,” she wrote over a mirror selfie. “Sad. Bruised. Strong and still alive…thank god. And still in my home town of Park City, Utah…with great friends and great humans and good everything! Come visit me! I have a suite in a hotel and I am safe. I’m just confused…and hurt.”
Kelley then posted a video to her Instagram Stories, showing a small dining table in her hotel set for two, with two glasses of wine poured, over which she wrote, “I don’t want worry or even sympathy…I will use what voice I have left to speak out against this, what I believe is illegal and without question…cruel and WRONG.”
In her video, Kelley said, “I have a very good life. I’m a successful woman. I have a very generous family. I have great friends. I have a friend here for dinner. Okay? And definitely what’s going on is not okay, it’s not okay anywhere, especially not in this country.”
“I’m angry, and I’m hurt, and I’m scared, and I’m going to use my rights as an American, to use Instagram, the free press, whatever it takes, for these kinds of things to not happen,” Kelley said, pulling her arm out of her sleeve to show her bruises again.
In Kelley’s next Story that evening, she posted another photo of the table set for two, with a pasta dish at one seat and a salad at the other setting, and wrote over the photo, “I am a very blessed and privileged person in this world and I would rather we focus on real issues we are facing as a world.”
“So if this makes you angry,” she continued, “then speak up. Call out injustice, brutality, subjugationand speak up for this kind of insanity!!! I am just as confused as all of you…trust me. Last I checked this was a FREE country when we had rights as women and humans. So yeah….let’s get loud!!!!”
Judge Ordered Kelley Wolf Not to Comment on Divorce, Kids or Scott Wolf on Social Media
GettyKelly, who appeared on 2022’s “The Real World Homecoming: New Orleans,” announced her amicable split from Scott on June 10, calling him “one of the best partners a woman could have the privilege of sharing life with.” He released a statement to People the next day, calling filing for divorce the “most difficult decision of my life.” The Wolfs share three children — Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11.
But things took a turn days later, when Kelley was detained by police at the Sundance Resort, according to People. On June 20, Kelley posted on Instagram that she was placed under an involuntary hold for several days but refused treatment. That same day, Scott posted a photo in his Instagram Stories of their kids on an airport’s moving walkway and wrote, “With my forever squad.”
On June 26, Today.com reported that Scott was granted temporary physical and legal custody of the kids, as well as a temporary restraining order against Kelley. According to the outlet, Judge Richard Mrazik stated in his order that Kelley “has been engaged in an escalating pattern of behavior that poses a substantial threat of immediate and irreparable harm to the party’s minor children.”
Judge Mrazik also stated that Kelley’s behavior was “sufficient” for her “to be detained by law enforcement and subsequently placed on an involuntary psychiatric commitment,” per Today.com.
According to People, the court order did not allow for Kelley to be at the family’s home nor to post anything on social media about the divorce, their kids or Scott. The order said, per People, “a failure to comply may be punishable by a fine or jail time.”
Scott is expected to still have a recurring role on season two of FOX’s “Doc,” despite his character losing his job in the season finale after making some decisions with tragic outcomes. Interestingly, his character is overly stressed by having a son at home struggling enough with mental health issues that he needs to check into a mental health facility.
In May, Wolf — who also starred in Hallmark’s 2023 hit “A Merry Scottish Christmas” with Lacey Chabert — told Us Weekly, “In some ways, he is just responding to the next thing that is in front of him. He is just trying to get ahead of it, keep his family safe and then just sometimes you can lose control of it. Then you can actually be forced into situations where you’re behaving in ways that you never thought you would.”
