‘The Groomsmen’ Stars Take Home Big Win at Awards Event

Hallmark scored a big win at the 36th GLAAD Media Awards, and fans are thrilled. Several fan-favorite Hallmark stars attended the event, which will air on April 12 on Hulu, and they seemed to have a blast.

According to Deadline, Hallmark’s “The Groomsmen: Second Chances” won the GLAAD Award for Outstanding Film — Streaming or TV. The network had two additional nominations, both of which were projects Jonathan Bennett was involved in.

Jonathan Bennett Gushed Over Hallmark’s Commitment to Telling LGBTQ+ Stories

Bennett shared his excitement over the evening in a video posted on his Instagram page. He noted he was representing Hallmark with “not one, not two, but three GLAAD Award nominations.”

He admitted it was “one of the best feelings in the world,” and he touted each of the three shows that were nominated. Bennett noted that “Finding Mr. Christmas” had “such a great LGBTQ+ storyline in it that really helps to move the needle forward and change the hearts and minds of the people watching.”

In addition to a nomination for “Finding Mr. Christmas,” both “Christmas on Cherry Lane” and “The Groomsman Trilogy” were nominated.

Bennett gushed, “All these movies that we’ve done at Hallmark Channel and TV shows that we’ve done at Hallmark Channel the past year have been stories of love and hope and they reach audiences that a lot of queer stories don’t reach, and I think that’s the power of Hallmark Channel.”

He added that he loves that Hallmark shares these LGTBQ+ shows with “the broadest audience in the country.” As a result, viewers “see that our love looks no different than theirs.”

Fans Were Thrilled for the Hallmark Stars

Bennett’s Instagram posts from the event received lots of love from his followers.

Hynes quipped, “This man has a lot of gifts, but one of those gifts is a way with words @jonathandbennett forever.”

“Congratulations! The Groomsmen, Finding Mr Christmas and Seasons Greetings from Cherry Lane are wonderful and entertaining. My favorite programs from 2024,” a fan commented.

“Hallmark was the vessel but the reason these projects were successful is because of the love, sincerity and passion that went into them. Love is love no matter who it’s between and that’s what made these projects great, 💕” wrote another fan.

Someone else added, “🙌🙌  to @jonathandbennett@iambjbritt@tyler_hynes and all involved in making the #groomsmen trilogy. So excited The Groomsmen Second Chances got a well deserved award! 🙌🙌🙌”

“Win it all JB! The Groomsmen looking fantastic as always, 😙🤌🏻❤️🔥” raved another fan.
