Familiar Faces to Appear on Newest WCTH Episode

Two familiar faces are joining Hope Valley on Sunday night, February 2. Hearties will be glad to see these characters, and they’ll also feel intrigued about the storylines they’re bringing to “When Calls the Heart.”

Tiera Skovbye from ‘Ride’ Is Playing a Mysterious New Stranger With a Strange Interest in Elizabeth

Tiera Skovbye is joining the cast as an enigmatic heiress named Ava. Ava’s background is strangely similar to Elizabeth’s and she’s familiar with Elizabeth’s novel. Something about Ava’s arrival is sending warning bells to some viewers who have watched the previews. Could she spell trouble for Hope Valley?

Skovbye is returning to Hallmark after starring as a lead character, Missy McMurray, in Hallmark’s one-season original series “Ride.” Hallmark quietly decided not to renew “Ride” for a second season, without much fanfare. The 10-episode drama premiered last March.

If you didn’t watch “Ride,” you might recognize Skovbye from some of her other TV roles, including Polly on “Riverdale” for 32 episodes, “Bring It On: Cheer or Die,” 20 episodes of “Nurses” as Grace, 10 episodes of Robin on “Once Upon a Time,” and a number of roles in various movies like “The Miracle Season,” “Secrets of My Stepdaughter,” “Summer of 84,” “Christmas Cookies,” “Minority Report,” and more.

Kayla Wallace Is Returning as Fiona

Kayla Wallace is finally returning to the series as Fiona. We haven’t seen her since last season when she attended Mike and Mei’s wedding.

Wallace has been busy with her role on “Landman” for Paramount Plus. But with her husband, Kevin McGarry, a leading star on the series, it’s not surprising that she’s coming back. When she returned at the end of season 11, it was in part because the 2023 writers’ strike allowed her time to visit the set after the show received special permission from SAG-AFTRA to continue filming.

“That was going on while I was waiting for ‘Landman’ to start up again,” she shared.

But as we can now see, that wasn’t the last time she’d return to the series.

In December she told People: “I might have an appearance on this season,” referring to season 12.

On January 19, she told Soaps: “I’ve never closed that door (on returning). It’s such a big part of my life. My husband is still very much on that show. It’s funny, I’m around the cast a lot, so it never felt like a goodbye, and I hope it’s never a goodbye.”
