Hallmark’s newest movie, “Double Scoop,” premieres on Saturday, August 23 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. It stars Taylor Cole and Ryan McPartlin. Read on to learn all about where it was filmed and see behind-the-scenes cast stories.
‘Double Scoop’ Was Filmed in Alabama
Even though “Double Scoop” takes place in New York and Wisconsin, it was filmed on location in Birmingham, Alabama, Cole told EntertainmentNow in an interview.
“We were on a farm and I did a bunch of different, fun things that I never thought I would get the opportunity to do, which is so fun,” Cole told EntertainmentNow. “I love animals of all kinds, and I bottle-fed a calf, I milked a cow, I held a baby goat.”
The animals they filmed with are from Fortner Farm, a family-owned petting zoo in Holly Pond, Alabama. You can schedule a visit to see all the adorable animals in person! According to their website, they now have more than 30 animals at the farm.
On Facebook, Fortner Farm shared posts about the animals that made the cut and will be seen in the film. “Our baby doll sheep made the cut,” they shared.
Cole told EntertainmentNow that she spent a lot of time with a sweet baby goat who had fleas.
“It was so fun,” she said. “But I feel like Ryan was having a complete opposite experience because he had allergies. He was, like, completely miserable, and I was totally in my element.”
In an interview with Southern Living, Cole said that many scenes were filmed at Paramore Farm in Harpersville, Alabama.
“I did so many bucket list items that are probably not on anyone else’s bucket list, but I milked a cow. I bottle fed a baby calf. I held a baby goat. I mean, I did it at all. All dreams come true in one movie,” she said.
Jacklyn Collier, who hosted Hallmark’s former podcast called Bubbly Sesh, is also in the movie and shared a photo with Cole.
In an interview with Southern Living, Cole said they filmed for three weeks in Alabama.
Sofia Sharkarian shared a video with behind-the-scenes moments and posted that this is her very first Hallmark movie.
