Cameron Mathison Shows Treasured Mustang After Wildfire Destroyed Family’s Home

Hallmark alum Cameron Mathison is still sorting through what is left of the California home he lost to the Eaton wildfire in January. In a new Instagram post, the “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” star revealed that one especially treasured belonging came through the wildfire in surprisingly good condition.

Cameron Mathison’s Mustang Fastback Is Repairable

On May 4, Mathison shared a new update via his Instagram page. He recorded himself back at the “burn site” of where his beloved family home once stood. Since the home burned down in January, Mathison has shared numerous updates and glimpses of the few things that the family was able to salvage from the ashes.

Until now, Mathison had not shared anything regarding his treasured Mustang. Fans may be stunned to discover that the Mustang is in fairly good shape despite it being on the property when the wildfire ravaged the area.

The new video shared on Instagram is the first Mathison has shared since work on clearing the property began. Mathison admitted, “Gotta be honest, it’s not easy seeing every remnant of our house bulldozed out, cleared.”

Despite the difficulties of seeing the property in its current state, Mathison’s focus was on something positive.

He panned over to show his 1965 Mustang Fastback that he has owned for 25 years. Mathison explained, “[The] Mustang somewhat survived the fire. It was one of the few things that survived, and this car is very, very, very important to me and the kids and the family for different reasons.”

In the caption of the post, Mathison noted, “The kids always dreamed of keeping it in the family for generations.”

The Hallmark Alum Is Eager to See the Vehicle After It’s Repaired

Mathison gave a once-over of the vehicle’s current state. “Obviously, the paint did not survive. It got cooked in the fire, which is salvageable. The engine’s working. Keys were in the house, so we needed a new key cylinder. The tires were all fried and crusted, so we needed new tires.”

After recording the video, Mathison shared he “on my way to the body shop now to get a quote on repainting it and I’m very grateful that it looks like it could be saved.”

Despite what may turn out to be a hefty repair bill, Mathison admitted the family was “Trying to hang on to what we can.”

Mathison panned back and noted, “She looks good from afar right now, but just wait until we get her painted.”

The Hallmark alum’s fans were thrilled to learn of the Mustang’s state.

One fan commented, “That’s great that you can bring her back to life Cam!!!”

Another wrote, “That’s amazing. They weren’t kidding about Built Ford Tough. So glad you have that to rebuild together.”

“I am so happy your car got saved from the fire. I know how much you love it, 🙏🏾❤️” read someone else’s comment.
