Cameron Mathison Shares Powerful Message As Family Who ‘Lost Everything’

Former Hallmark star Cameron Mathison shared a heartfelt message with his fans days after losing his family home in the California wildfires. Mathison was one of the first celebrities in California to share the toll the fires took on his house, and he has provided a few updates since then.

In his latest social media update, Mathison shared a touching message in response to the immense support he and others in similar situations have experienced.

Cameron Mathison Is Grateful for the Massive Show of Support

On January 13, Mathison posted a new video on his Instagram and it was also shared on TikTok. The video was a “really quick check-in ” with a heartfelt message.

Mathison began by thanking fans for the “massive amounts of love and support” they have shown his family in the wake of the fire destroying their home. He added that he’s also seen the support everybody provides to thousands of others in the Los Angeles area experiencing similar losses.

“It’s just, you don’t know how much it helps,” Mathison noted. He added that he’s been trying to return messages to everybody, but he hasn’t managed to keep up. He’s still trying, though.

Mathison continued, “I just want to say that it makes the world a difference and I want to say thank you.”

The “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” alum then shared a somewhat unique perspective on the situation.

“I also want to say, and this is important, that the people that had their houses spared by these horrible fires, like the people whose houses in Altatino that are still standing, whose houses some in the Palisades that are still standing, for those people, just know that for us that have lost everything, it brings us so much joy to see that some people made it, that your houses made it,” Mathison insisted.

He added, “There [are] friends that I think on some level feel guilty or something I don’t know, but just know all of us that lost everything. We walk through and we walk by your houses and it just makes us smile, brings tears to my eyes to think that your house was spared.”

Fans Continue to Have The Hallmark Alum’s Back

Mathison suggested, “I don’t know if it’s survivor’s guilt or whatever but please let that go. Let that go and we’re so happy for you. He wrapped his video by saying he was sending love and support to everybody.

Some other celebrities, like Jennifer Garner, have spoken about that very thing. She talked to MSNBC as she was helping in an area impacted by the fires and admitted she struggles to know her home is fine while so many others she knows lost everything.

Mathison’s fans and colleagues flooded his Instagram post with love and support.

Fellow Hallmark alum Jen Lilley commented, “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️this is beautiful ❤️❤️”

Danica McKellar added, “You are a beautiful soul.”

“You are such a wonderful soul to think of others even those whose homes are standing. You are an amazing human being and I hope you and your family have somewhere to stay. Be safe and bless you,” shared a fan of Mathison’s.

Another fan wrote, “You are such an amazing, kind and gracious human. The world can learn a lot from you.”
