Fans rallied around longtime Hallmark star Brennan Elliott on July 13, 2025, as he revealed on Instagram that he was “diving into a NEW role” and “soaking in every moment of the journey.” It’s the first acting gig Elliott has shared with fans since his wife, Camilla Row, died in March following an arduous, eight-year battle with gastric cancer.
Captioning a photo of himself in dark-rimmed glasses, which he occasionally wears, Elliott wrote of preparing for a new role, “It’s always a mix of excitement and a challenge, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🙌 can’t wait for you all to see what’s coming up. It’s something really special!”
Elliott, the star of more than 20 Hallmark movies and the Hallmark series “Cedar Cove,” did not specify what he’s filming. Though fans were thrilled to see him stepping back into acting, many were disappointed to learn it’s not a Hallmark movie.
Brennan Elliott Says He ‘Would Love’ to Make More Movies for Hallmark
Elliott, who’s been adjusting to life as a single dad to 12-year-old son Liam and 10-year-old daughter Luna, shared his gratitude for his fans in his post, writing, “Stay tuned, and THANKYOU for your constant support! Your messages always make the long days worth it!”
When fans expressed how much they’d missed seeing him on Hallmark, Elliott replied to one that he hadn’t been on the network recently “cause they havnt offered me any new movies lately, but we will see what the future holds.”
Many fans were surprised by Elliott’s response, including one person who declared, “we’ll be all over them about that!❤️”
Another person wrote, “honestly, they are crazy. Makes no sense. You are absolutely my top favorite on the Hallmark channel, hands down. You should be considered as the top best with them. Looking forward to seeing your new project. 🙏🏻”
“I miss you on Hallmark,” someone else wrote. “I am not happy with their current direction. Hope to see you on my screen soon.😍”
Elliott replied to that fan, ” I would love that. Always love making #hallmark movies for the fans”

There Are Plenty of Signs Brennan Elliott is Still Part of the Hallmark Family

Prioritizing family time before and after Row’s death has required Elliott to be much more selective about the roles he accepted in recent years. In 2024, he appeared in one Hallmark movie, “His & Hers” opposite Lacey Chabert, with whom he’s appeared in a whopping 10 films.
Many fans were disappointed that he didn’t have a Hallmark Christmas movie in 2024, but Elliott decided to pass up a script that year that didn’t feel worthwhile — a rare move for him. On an episode of the “Swing My Heart” podcast that September, he explained, “I probably feel a little guilty about it … but I said no to that one thinking there might be something else, but unfortunately there wasn’t anything else.”
A rep for Elliott later told EntertainmentNow, “Hallmark has assured us that Brennan is thought of highly in the Hallmark family and they are always looking for a film for him.”
Meanwhile, Elliott has hinted for the last couple of years that he’s been developing a mystery series for the network, and he’s also slated to appear from December 5-7 at the Hallmark Christmas Experience in Kansas City, where each weekend features Hallmark’s top stars.
In June, Hallmark’s Ashley Williams and Alison Sweeney teamed up with pal Benjamin Ayres’ Romance University to raise money for StandUp2Cancer. The trio hosted an Instagram Live in which they said they wanted to honor Elliott and his family, selling limited-edition t-shirts before Williams’ and Sweeney’s “To Barcelona” movie premieres. Ayres told EntertainmentNow that fans raised an amazing $5625 for the cancer charity through t-shirt purchases and donations.
