Christmas came early for Hallmark Channel fans when the network announced on July 12 that its 2025 Countdown to Christmas programming lineup would include a third movie in the beloved “Three Wise Men” franchise starring Andrew Walker, Tyler Hynes, and Paul Campbell.
The trio of stars appeared in a surprise promo that aired on the network and on its social media accounts, where fans were told to “get ready for #ThreeWisestMen.” Social media lit up with excitement, but Hallmarkies were left clamoring for more details.
Fortunately, Walker was happy to confirm a few details with EntertainmentNow to tide over fans. The longtime Hallmark star returns as Luke, one-third of the Brenner brothers and a doting dad to Thomas, who was just a baby in the first flick (2022’s “Three Wise Men and a Baby”) but an adorable kid in the second, played by then-six-year-old Miles Marthaller (in 2024’s “Three Wiser Men and a Boy”).
Andrew Walker Says ‘Three Wise Men’ Cast Will Start Filming in Mid-August
When the cast reunites in mid-August to begin filming, Walker told EntertainmentNow, there will be “lots of familiar faces.” As previously reported by People, Kimberley Sustad will appear in the movie, as will Margaret Colin, who plays the Brenner brothers’ mom. Walker said that Marthaller is also returning, as is Erin Karpluk — and Matt Hamilton shared in his Instagram Stories that he’ll join the party, too.
As with the first two scripts, Campbell and Sustad have written the third one, too, Walker confirmed. They called in screenwriter Russell Hainline to help out as they did on the second movie, Walker said, noting that the trio of writers “know the characters so well now … and they’re so talented, and so in sync on how they work, and they all know their lanes.”
“Kimberley is all the heartfelt dialogue,” Walker said, “and then Paul kind of colors in all the humor. And then together, they’ll tackle a lot of the bigger scenes. And then Russell is an amazing writer, and just works so well with them.”
Having read the script, Walker teased, “I tell you what, people are in for a treat. Yeah, it’s gonna be a fun ride.”
Will ‘Three Wise Men’ Continue After 3rd Movie? Andrew Walker Weighs In

As soon as the third movie was announced, fans were already adding future iterations of the Brenner brothers’ adventures to their wish lists, bantering on social media about wanting the “Three Wise Men” franchise to go on endlessly.
But Walker told EntertainmentNow, “This is a wrap-up movie. So you’re going to see a lot of people that you’ve seen in the previous movies. I’d work with this group of people for the rest of my career, you know? But we can’t be selfish with what we want. I think what’s best for this story in particular — and the ‘Wise Men’ franchise has been really good to all of us — is that I think that sometimes if you overdo it, it loses its allure.”
“We’re really happy to just get this third opportunity to do this, and to kind of, you know, tie it up with a bow and send it off and maybe create something fresh,” Walker said.
But for those already heartbroken over the thought of the “Wise Men” core group going their separate ways, Walker said, “You know, it doesn’t mean that the three of us aren’t going to work together again. There’s other stories that we can do, and there’s other stories we want to tell.”
“We’ve talked about it, you know, between the three of us and with Kim,” he told EntertainmentNow. “But I think three is the charm (for the ‘Wise Men’ franchise). We all feel very lucky.”
Walker, Campbell, Hynes, and Sustad are genuinely close friends outside of work, too, so they have plenty of chances for brainstorming and dreaming about the future, Walker said.
“There’s a feeling of family and, you know, completeness when we’re together,” he said. “It’s weird. It’s like, with us living in Vancouver right now, our extended family is Paul and Kimberley, and then when
Tyler comes into town, it’s just an added bonus.”
Walker, whose wife Cassandra is Hynes’ first cousin, marveled, “I couldn’t have planned it any better, you know? We get this time together, and our kids get to spend time with Kimberley’s girls, Paul’s son, and then, you know, cool cousin Tyler comes into town on his motorcycle. It’s that feeling that you get when you’re with loved ones and family that you can’t put a finger on, and it’s just, you know, familiarity and comfort and all the good things.”
