Some friendships are meant to last a lifetime. When it comes to friendships, Jennifer Aniston is every bit the Rachel Green we know and love: loyal, fun, and always showing up for her people. And Sandra Bullock also agrees.

For Aniston’s cover story for Vanity Fair, Bullock shared that she & Aniston first bonded 15 years ago, despite being told they “weren’t supposed to,” defying Hollywood’s habit of pitting women against each other.
In the cover story for the September issue, Bullock reflected on a time in Hollywood when women were pitted against each other.
Bullock Recalls Hollywood’s Habit of Pitting Women Against Each Other

“We were from that time in the business where no one wanted the ladies to be friends — it was about pitting everyone against each other,” said Bullock, 61.
“We were told we weren’t supposed to do that — meaning like and respect and honor each other.”
A Wedding That Sparked a Friendship
The two actresses met at a mutual friend’s wedding, where they instantly hit it off. “We were just like, ‘Oh my God, we need to meet and cut loose,’” recalled Bullock.
“And we did.” Aniston, 56, teased Bullock about the night, joking about her friend’s hangover the next day:
“I don’t know what I was sending her, but it was definitely stronger than what she was sending me.”
Bullock Praises Aniston’s “Superpower”
Bullock described Aniston as “incredibly open,” despite having every reason to be guarded. “People want to know about her and understand where she is in life and want her to be happy,” she said.
The “Practical Magic” star also noted Aniston’s inclusive nature, sharing that even during numerology readings, “we’re all scribbling down our thoughts and in it together.” She added, “Nothing is for her alone ever. Everything she does is for everyone else included.”

In 2023, Bullock celebrated her 59th birthday on July 26, and Aniston marked the occasion with an Instagram Story filled with photos and a playful video revealing her nickname for the “Speed” actress.
“Happy Birthday Sand-a-La,” Aniston wrote alongside a shot of Bullock sipping from a mug featuring a caricature of Aniston from her Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show”.

It was a glimpse into the kind of camaraderie that makes their bond so special.
Inside Bullock-Aniston’s Circle of Support
Bullock revealed that she, Aniston, and Gwyneth Paltrow regularly swap advice, asking questions like, “What are you doing for this? What are you doing for that? Do you have a new doctor for that?” Aniston added a personal anecdote about her connection to Paltrow, saying, “Ironically, I went to her and Brad’s engagement party.”
