Beloved ‘Friends’ Star, 61, Ditches Beauty Filters & Gets Real About Skin Struggles [Video]

The one where Monica gets super real. How refreshing is it when celebrities drop the glam and keep it real? Beloved “Friends” star Courteney Cox, 61, did just that in a quirky Instagram video shared Thursday, July 10. She cheekily labeled the montage “useless selfies.”

The video opened with a barefaced Courteney sitting outdoors, bundled up in a jacket and staring blankly into the camera. From there, things only got more real — and more relatable.

Courteney Cox Chronicles Allergic Reactions with Humor & Honesty

The actress wasn’t shy about showing it all — even the less-than-flattering moments. In one selfie, Courteney wrote, “Allergic reaction.” Then, “Another allergic reaction,” as her face grew progressively redder in each photo. She poked fun at her condition with humor, captioning one close-up: “Half-human, half-Vulcan?”

Followed by another: “Not sure.” And when a beauty appointment went wrong, Cox documented that too. A snapshot of her getting her roots done was interrupted by—you guessed it—another reaction. “Oh s—, is this what I look like?” she joked over a red-faced close-up.

The video was set to Yungblud’s “Lovesick Lullaby,” with Courteney noting in her caption: “Can’t get this song out of my head.”

But the video wasn’t all reactions. In one, she showed a pimple; in another one, she can be seen in bed while sick. She even had a shot with teeth-whitening strips.

She ended the montage on a sweet note with a fresh-faced photo and a bouquet. “Enough with the allergic reactions,” she wrote. Then, smiling, “That’s all.”

One comment read: “In a world obsessed with filters and fake perfection, Monica just reminded us that being real is the real flex 💯✨” One follower observed: “Court, no matter what is on your skin, you are beautiful and sweet 😍 the best of all 😍”

A social media user exclaimed: “it kills me how good you look from any angle !!! You’re gorgeous in every possible way.”

Another fan wrote: “It’s so bad to have allergies, Cece! I can relate so much. Hope you’re well and everything’s fine!💖”

Commenting on the relatability factor, a fan chimed in: “Same camera roll sis. Same. 💯🙌🏻”

Another reaction read: “Omg, I can totally relate with the allergic reactions, ever since I entered into menopause, my allergies have heightened to 1000%. It’s ALL the time.”

Courteney may have played a neat freak on “Friends“, but in real life, Courteney Cox is embracing the mess — the raw, the real, and everything that comes with aging.
