Ree Drummond Asks Fans to Weigh In on Her Granddaughter

Ree Drummond is dishing up a little ginger, and we don’t mean the spice!

The Pioneer Woman is talking about one of her favorite subjects- no, not cooking- but granddaughter Sofia.

Ree posted a picture of the 7-month-old cutie on Instagram writing, “My little firecracker is here. (I think she had red hair, do you???)

Sofia, who is the daughter of Ree’s older daughter Alex and her husband Mauricio is happily smiling in the picture, and does appear to have some possibly Auburn hair growing in.

In the comments, Ree’s younger daughter Paige writes, “My little ginger elf 🧡”

The Pioneer Woman’s latest blog reveals that Ree had Sofia on her lap in a recent church service when the baby got a little fussy.

But when Ree and husband Ladd started singing in harmony to the classic hymn “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” Sofia became mesmerized and calmed right down.

Ree wrote, “Immediately, Sofia seemed to relax and come along for the ride. And by the way, I need to mention that I always harmonize old hymns at church. The reason I do this is that the melody is often too high for me, and I don’t like singing at the same octave as Ladd. Whether or not what I wrote makes musical sense, I really don’t know. Basically, I’m an alto but I don’t want to sing too low, so I harmonize. And old hymns are a harmonizer’s paradise.”

Ree Drummond Releases New Cookbook Between Grandma Duties

When Ree Drummond isn’t on “Grandma Duty” (or in her case, “Ree-Ree” duty), she’s been hard at work putting together her latest cookbook called “The Pioneer Woman Cooks the Essential Recipes.”

In an Instagram post revealing the cookboook cover, Ree writes, “I’m so very excited. 🥹 My new cookbook, The Essential Recipes, is finally finished after a year-and-a-half of love, labor, and a few happy tears.

It’ll be available this fall, and if I could sum it up in a simple phrase, it would be this: recipe bible. It’s packed as full as I could get it with all the beloved, most essential (hence the title!) PW recipes, but with a very important twist: Every single one of them has been re-examined, re-worked, re-tested, and turned into an even more sublime and foolproof version of themselves. It has been the hardest cookbook for me to complete because I care about these recipes SO much (I’ve made some of them for thirty years), and I couldn’t seem to stop perfecting, tasting, perfecting, tasting.

I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I can’t wait for the pages to be sauce-splattered and dog-eared! Swipe through these photos, which represent just a fraction of the recipes in the book. This cookbook is a love letter to you, to my family, and in many ways, to myself. I hope you love it. ❤️❤️❤️”

The cookbook’s subtitle is “120 Greatest Hits, New Twists and Perfected Classics.” And in the Instagram post, Ree includes a mouthwatering carousel of pictures. She showcases mouthwatering dishes like beef stew, mac n’ cheese, yeast rolls, country-fried steak and gravy and chicken pot pie.

The cookbook drops October 28 but just opened up for pre-order.

Ree Drummond Cooks Up New Series on YouTube

When Ree Drummond isn’t in the kitchen whipping up new recipes for her cookbook, she’s been cooking up something else.

Ree and husband Ladd have debuted a new series called “Drummond Ranch” on their YouTube channel by the same name.

And if you’re expecting it to be focused on Ree like her “Pioneer Woman” cooking show, think again.

In a blog on her Pioneer Woman page, writes, “I play only a supporting role in this series!”

In an Instagram post, Ree writes, “The real stars are the cowboys (and cowgirls!), cattle, horses, weather, markets, ups, downs, and everything in between.”

So far, Ree and Ladd have posted five episodes of “Drummond Ranch.” They range in length from about three minutes to almost 15 minutes.
