Ree Drummond Gets Emotional Updating Fans on Her Children’s Future on the Ranch

In a heartfelt new episode of her “Drummond Ranch” YouTube series, Ree Drummond opened up about her children’s connection to the family’s sprawling Oklahoma ranch. The “Pioneer Woman” star became visibly emotional while discussing the possibility of her kids carrying on the legacy of the land that’s been in her husband Ladd Drummond’s family for generations.

With her daughter Paige now working full-time on the ranch and expressing plans to stay involved in the future, Drummond reflected on what the continuation of the family business means to her and her husband.

Ree Drummond’s Daughter Returns to Her Roots

In the episode, Drummond featured her daughter Paige, the second of the couple’s five children, who includes Alex, Bryce, Todd, and Jamar. After graduating from the University of Arkansas in 2022 and working a corporate job in Dallas, Paige admitted that city life and a desk job didn’t suit her.

She made the decision to return to Pawhuska, Oklahoma, where she now works alongside her father, Ladd, and uncle, Tim, on the family ranch.

“I’m the first one out of all the siblings to come back full-time,” Paige shared. “Most times, it’s just me and my dad getting around on the ranch.”

Her brother Bryce praised her for her determination and skill, saying, “She’s a good hand and she’s smart. So it’s an advantage having her back.”

Ladd and Ree Drummond Reflect on the Drummond Family Legacy

The Drummond ranch has been in the family for five generations and remains the heart of both their personal lives and public personas. Ladd, who co-runs the Drummond Land & Cattle Co. with his brother, expressed how meaningful it is to have one of his children by his side.

“Having the kids back is, to me, that’s what it’s all about,” he said. “If the kids weren’t going to come back and be a part of the ranch, I would seriously reconsider doing as much as we do.”

That sentiment brought Ree to tears as she contemplated her family’s legacy.

“The idea that, you know, one of [Ladd’s] kids is getting to live that life too is such a blessing to him,” she said.

Looking Ahead to Life on the Drummond Ranch

Paige recently married David Anderson on the family property in May. She revealed that, for now, the couple will live in Dallas due to his job as a construction engineer. However, their long-term plans include returning to the Drummond ranch full-time.

“I think it’s where we want to end up long-term,” Paige said.

In addition to their Dallas residence, the newlyweds already have a home near the Drummond ranch — her late grandfather Chuck Drummond’s house.

Meanwhile, Ree says that she’s always wanted to show more ranch and agricultural moments to her fans. But because she has a cooking show, she was limited on the amount of time she could spend on “the non-food component.”

She launched the Drummond Ranch YouTube series so her viewers could see the cowboys, the weather, and the dynamic between Ladd and his brother, Tim.

“You’ll hear about the different kinds of cattle operations, markets and what it’s like in a family where all the kids are growing up and trying to figure out what role they will play in the ranch’s future,” Ree wrote on her website.

The Drummond Ranch YouTube channel launched in June, with new videos being posted weekly.
