Fans Send Love & Support to ‘Great British Bake Off’ Star After Heartbreaking Family News

Paul Hollywood is asking for the public’s help after his brother Lee was violently attacked in Leasowe, England. The “Great British Bake Off” judge took to Instagram on Aug. 10 to share details and urge anyone with information to contact authorities.

“If you have information regarding this attack on Friday night, the person in question who was attacked is my brother Lee. Any information please follow details above Thank you,” Hollywood captioned a post that included an official statement from Wirral Police.

Police Detail the Unprovoked Incident

According to Wirral Police, Lee, who is in his 50s, was walking his dog on Links View Playing Fields near Shackleton Road around 7:10 p.m. on Aug. 8 when another man’s dog began barking at his.

After separating the animals, the other man allegedly became irate and, moments later, approached Lee from behind, punching him to the ground before kicking him in the face & back.

Lee suffered injuries to his back and face and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Authorities say an “investigation is underway” and are reviewing possible CCTV footage to help identify the suspect.

Lee Hollywood’s Baking Legacy

Like his famous brother, Lee pursued a career in baking. He ran the artisan bakery Born & Bread in Wirral, Liverpool, until 2020, once sharing that success meant working 13-hour days.

“Our Paul and I are very close and I watch Bake Off when I can,” he told The Daily Mail in 2016, adding that their bond remains strong despite Paul’s busy filming schedule.
