Guy Fieri Thanks Adam Sandler for ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Cameo, Shares BTS Photos

Guy Fieri brought his signature flavor to the golf course.

The celebrity chef made a buzz-worthy cameo in the Netflix comedy “Happy Gilmore 2,” starring longtime friend Adam Sandler. In the film, Fieri plays the host of the fictional Maxi Golf Tournament, appearing in scenes alongside Sandler’s iconic title character.

‘So Awesome to be Included’

“So AWESOME to be included in ‘HAPPY GILMORE 2,’” Fieri wrote on Instagram on July 28. He shared a series of stills from the movie, which debuted on July 25 to rave reviews.

“Big thanks to @adamsandler for havin’ me, and for lettin’ me bring my own wardrobe and tequila 😂,” Fieri added, referencing Santo Tequila, the brand he co-founded.

Fellow chefs and Food Network personalities were quick to congratulate Fieri on his cameo. Chuck Matto, known from season 4 of Food Network’s “BBQ Brawl,” wrote, “Legendary! Was hyped when I saw you!!!” Chef Crista Luedtke, a two-time “Tournament of Champions” winner and judge on “Guy’s Grocery Games,” added, “🙌🙌🙌 was so good!!! Watched it with my nephews and they were pumped.” Even Fieri’s tequila brand, Santo Tequila, chimed in with a celebratory comment: “CHEERS! 🔥🔥🔥”

Sandler also showed his support by liking the post.

The movie marks the latest in a string of celebrity cameos. A long list of stars and athletes, such as Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny, Eminem, and Post Malone also make appearances, joining Fieri in the comedic follow-up to Sandler’s 1996 classic.

A History of Screen Time with Sandler

While this might be their first fictional collaboration, it’s not Fieri’s first on-screen moment with Sandler. In 2013, the cast of “Grown Ups 2” joined Fieri for an episode of his Food Network series, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

The season 17 episode, currently available to stream on Hulu or HBO Max, also featured fellow comedians David Spade, Chris Rock, and Kevin James, who joined the food-filled adventure through Los Angeles.

In an interview with People, Fieri shared insight into his signature hairstyle, saying it doesn’t take long to achieve. “Everybody asks, ‘How long does it take to do your hair?’ It takes…” he said, rubbing his head quickly. “That’s how long.”

Fieri also made it clear that his signature look wasn’t crafted for television.

“People think I got tattoos and bleached my hair because I was going to be on TV,” he told People in 2022. “I made those great decisions before I got here.”
