New Episode of ‘The Great Food Truck Race’
For episode 2 of season 18, which is titled “Crushing Charleston,” the seven remaining teams will be facing off against each other, not to sell the least amount of food. They are all still hoping for the chance to win the $50,000 prize, but tonight will be a challenge for some of these teams.
In the episode synopsis from Food Network, “Seven food trucks hit Charleston, S.C., and Chef Kardea Brown shows no mercy as she judges their attempts at Gullah Geechee dishes. Then, host Tyler Florence releases the teams to sell on the wild streets of Charleston, revealing who’s ready for the hard sell and who falls way short.”
Just when the teams thought it was a hard enough week, they are faced with torrential rains. Then Chef Rodney Scott brings the teams his signature BBQ to see who can make a dish worthy of a real pitmaster.
Last Week on ‘The Great Food Truck Race’ 2025 Premiere
If you missed last week’s premiere, then you missed the nine new teams kick things off in Savannah, Georgia. Things began with Florence asking the teams to each make their signature dish in 30 minutes.
While Rising Tiger made a dish they’d never made before, it worked out for them. They won the challenge and got $300 to add to their till. From there, it was two days of selling, with ups and downs for most of the teams.
Eat My Biscuits had their generator stop working, so needed maintenance to come out and fix it. Nishaan couldn’t find the proper meat they could serve. Meanwhile, G’s Cheesesteaks struggled to find the right bread for their sandwiches.
The teams were also faced with another challenge of creating banana dishes thanks to the Savannah Bananas. Rising Tiger won another challenge and was able to get an extra hour of selling compared to the other teams.
In the end, Eat My Biscuits sold the least amount of food and was eliminated. However, Rising Tiger then stepped forward and said they had some personal things to attend to at home. They were leaving the show, so Eat My Biscuits could take their spot.
However, Tyler said the rules are the rules, and the team with the lowest sales has to go home. That meant both Eat My Biscuits and Rising Tiger were eliminated during the “The Great Food Truck Race” season 18 premiere.
Episode 2 of “The Great Food Truck Race” season 18 airs tonight, Sunday, August 10, at 9/8c on Food Network, with next-day streaming available on HBO Max.
