Father & Daughter SAFE After Going OVERBOARD Disney Dream Cruise Ship [RESCUE VIDEO]

A father heroically jumped into the sea to save his child after an accident on the Disney Dream cruise boat ended with his daughter falling overboard into the ocean. The stunning incident happened on June 29 as the boat was returning to Ft. Lauderdale from an island excursion, according to a People report.

A TikTok user named @noeayala32 shared video footage in which the pair can be seen bobbing in the water before being pulled onto the small craft that came after them.

CBS News showed video footage of the aftermath in which a small rescue boat retrieves the wayward passengers, and described explained what occurred.

CBS Reporter Called Disney Cruise Overboard Fall a “Mystery”

The report explained that a tot fell overboard, and was followed into the sea by her father who jumped in to save her. The station’s Christian Benavides called the cause of the child’s tumble from the ship’s fourth deck “really quite a mystery.”

He also revealed that the recreational area from which the child fell is outfitted with plexiglass that is “supposed to protect people from going overboard,” and that the logistics of the fall are particularly perplexing considering the girl’s short stature.

Benavides continued his report to say the two passengers were stuck treading water in the “open ocean” for TWENTY MINUTES before a rescue boat could reach them.

The identities of the girl who fell off the ship and her father have not been publicly identified as of publishing on June 30.

People Obtained Statement from Disney Cruise Passenger Witness

People revealed in a report published the day after the accident that they obtained a statement from a passenger who witnessed the child fall overboard the Disney Dream.

The outlet says the passenger recalled hearing an “awful scream” she assumes came from the child’s mother before hearing a splash in the water below. The witness compared the loud noise created by the fall to the sound of “hitting pavement.” She said a “man overboard” alert was then called out over the boat’s loudspeakers, and flotation devices were thrown into the water towards the overboard vacationers.

The story says the source expressed surprise that the passengers were found, and that Disney Cruise Line provided a statement to the magazine which read, “We are committed to the safety and well-being of our guests, and this incident highlights the effectiveness of our safety protocols.”

CBS spoke to another passenger, who the said the ship was moving so quickly that those onboard quickly “lost sight” of the people in the water.
