Nicole Scherzinger Gives Powerful Speech About Not Giving Up
“We are all just born with a purpose,” Scherzinger said on “The View,” overcome with emotion. “So just don’t give up.” Referring to herself as a child, she admitted, “She had big dreams even though she was very insecure,” and then corrected herself to say that she “still has big dreams” and emphasized the importance of not giving up.
“Just don’t give up … if you believe … anything is possible, just don’t give up,” she said. “And I’m so grateful that I grew up without money.” The struggles made her who she is today, and she revealed she does not take anything for granted. She earned everything she has!

Nicole Scherzinger Comments on Struggles of Childhood
Scherzinger has made no secret of the fact that her childhood was far from perfect and has previously discussed her struggles with self-esteem and feelings of abandonment. Her father, Alfonso Valiente, left her and her mother when she was three years old, and despite having a wonderful stepfather, Gary Scherzinger, the singer has still felt the impact of her father’s actions.
“I definitely have abandonment issues and that is because my actual biological father did leave me, I think when I was three,” she told “How to Fail with Elizabeth Day” in March 2024, Daily Mail reports. “And so I didn’t think it would ever affect me, but I guess somewhere it did affect me. So I definitely have my own issues with that for sure.”
She continued, ‘I have really strong abandonment issues, unfortunately, which is wonderful for my character, Norma in [Sunset Boulevard]. See, it all ties back to that. It brought me back, and Norma has huge abandonment issues. She feels so abandoned in her life, so empty, so lonely, and it all just ties into it. It’s like, it was just a line meant to be that I was meant to play this role one day.”
