“Dancing with the Stars” alum Mark Ballas has updated his collection of tattoos! The professional dancer shared several shirtless photos and short video clips on Instagram on Friday, August 15, to show off his latest ink, and fans are blown away by the beautiful artwork and, of course, Ballas’ impressive abs.
Mark Ballas Impresses With His Latest Tattoo
The first photo shows Ballas posing for a mirror selfie in his closet, surrounded by clothing and shoes. The owl tattoo is on his torso. In the second image, he poses with New York City-based tattoo artist, YongSeop Hwang, who responsible for the beautiful work.
Other photos and videos show a close-up of the design, which shows an owl flying and what appears to be the North Star at the top of the image.
Ballas also shared a short clip of himself getting inked, and he looks remarkably calm and collected for someone who is getting tattooed in one of the most painful placements for body art (stomach tattoos are considered high on the pain scale level, Healthline reports).
Ballas shared his thoughts in the caption, writing, “Got Tattooed by one of the best this week. Thank you @drag_ink for the incredible experience & this beautiful Owl Tattoo #tattoo #owl.”
Fans React To Mark Ballas’ Tattoo Artwork
Ballas’ post has only been up for a few minutes, but it is already attracting attention from fans. “Looks awesome love how detailed it is too,” a comment reads. “Hottie,” another fan shared. Other reactions include, “Cool tatt! What great artistry!!!,””Very cool! Why did you choose an owl? Significance?” and “Wow.”
Fans of Ballas will know this is not his first tattoo, and he has a collection at this point. In an interview with Los Angeles Times in 2017, he briefly touched on his ink. “The most recent one is on my left inside arm. I have a female lioness with my wife’s initials buried in the chest,” he said. He has added more since then!
Body art is a way for the individual to express themselves and all of Ballas’ designs are likely incredibly meaningful. But he is not the only one in his family with tattoos; his mother, Shirley Ballas, also has a tattoo.
Two months ago, Shirley shared she had gotten inked to honor her late brother. “A tattoo for my brother… thank you @talbooker honoured to be tattoo number 2 of 24 in your @calmzone #TattooAThon,” she wrote on Facebook on June 7.
