Joey Lawrence Makes Rare Comments About Working on His Marriage to Samantha Cope

Joey Lawrence is opening up about his marriage to Samantha Cope and how they’re making things work now that they’ve reconciled.

The actor and former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant recently shared an update, telling Us Weekly, “We’re just spending every day just working away at it. It feels good to put the work in and see results from that.” He added, “I love her to death.”

Lawrence and Cope tied the knot in May of 2022 and in January of 2023 the pair welcomed their daughter Dylan Rose. The couple shared the news in a sweet Instagram post featuring their happy little family cuddled together. “Everyone is happy and healthy and we are overjoyed with gratitude 🙏🏼🤍” Lawrence wrote in the caption.

In October 2024, Cope filed for divorce from Lawrence and sought sole custody of their daughter. But just two months later, the couple reconciled.

“As much you don’t want to take an easy way out, or you think this will be the fix—it’s not always the case,” Lawrence told E! News. “I just didn’t want to do that. And she didn’t either. It’s like, ‘Wait a minute. There’s something so special here.’”

Lawrence Is Putting Effort Into All His Relationships

Lawrence seemed to acknowledge the ups and downs he and Cope experienced over the past year, telling Us Weekly, “Life is a very imperfect, bumpy journey. We make all of our mistakes down here, I really do believe that. I know that for a fact, because I’ve made a ton and continue to make mistakes.”

But despite the mistakes he’s made, Lawrence is taking the time to nurture all of his relationships. That includes his bond with his brothers Matthew Lawrence and Andrew Lawrence.

“Everything takes work,” the actor shared. “Any relationship takes work, no matter what with friends, siblings — Matt, Andy and I put a ton of work into our relationship — and we continue to work through it as we grow, as we became men.”

The brothers are participating in a new venture together, as they are soon to release their graphic novel “The Lawrence Brothers Detective Agency.”

Lawrence & Cope Look as Happy Together as Ever

Judging by Lawrence’s Instagram page, he and Cope are enjoying a very happy time in their newly rekindled marriage.

Lawrence’s top pinned posts include a reel of him and Cope dancing in comfy sweats, a clip that features their “Holiday fits” and a series of romantic photos featuring the couple frolicking on a beach.

The latter is a joint post between Lawrence and Cope, and Cope captioned it with a quote from the poet Mary Oliver. “Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable,” it reads.
