Jane Seymour Reflects on a Beloved Role

Seymour posted a throwback photo of herself and her co-stars on Instagram on August 11 and shared her thoughts in the caption. “National #SonsandDaughtersDay feels like the perfect time to share this memory of Dr. Mike’s beautiful family. The laughter, the lessons, and the love we shared on set will always stay with me. Who has brought joy into your life like this?” she wrote. She also included the hashtag #BringBackDrQuinn, suggesting she would be open to reprising her role.

‘Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,’ Came at an Important Time in Jane Seymour’s Life

“Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” premiered in 1993, and the final episodes aired in 1998. Seymour’s portrayal as Dr. Quinn earned her a Golden Globe in 1995. It is a role she holds dear, and one that forever changed her career.
“I had nothing,” said on “Celebrity IOU” in August 2025, People reports. Seymour revealed she was willing to take any job. “Anything turned up later on that day as a script called ‘Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, which I was guaranteed would never be a series. So, I signed for five years [and] immediately started the following morning.”
The cast has remained close, and on December 6, 2021, Seymour shared a glimpse at her relationship with her co-stars with a sweet Instagram post. In the photo, she poses with William Shockley, who played the role of Hank Lawson, Joe Lando, who played Byron Sully, and Jason Adams, who played the role of Preston A. Lodge III.
“Even after all these years they still carry me!” she wrote in the caption. “My heart is full after spending time with these incredible humans. @williamshockley, Jason Adams, and I got together to get an early start on celebrating Joe’s big birthday! 60’s just around the corner!”
Lando also shared a photo of Seymour on his Instagram page and called for the TV show to be renewed.
