DWTS Hosts Tease Big Change Ahead of Season 34: ‘We’ve Never Done This’

Fans of “Dancing with the Stars” will soon see a new side of show hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough. On August 15, a post on the ABC celebrity ballroom competition’s official Instagram page featured the two co-hosts teasing something fans have never seen before.

“We’ve done the cha-cha. We’ve danced the samba… the foxtrot… the quickstep. The jive!” Hough and Ribeiro said in the video. “But we’ve never done this.”

The clip then panned to Ribeiro winking at the camera before making hip-hop style dance moves with Hough. The clip was set to the Technotronic song “Pump Up the Jam.”

The caption to the post read: “It’s our #DWTS hosts like you’ve never seen before. 🤭 This Monday, @therealalfonsoribeiro and @juleshough have something special coming your way to hype you up for the season premiere!”

“Dancing with the Stars” Season 34 premieres September 16 on ABC.

Fans Reacted to the DWTS Teaser Clip

Fans had a big reaction to the teaser. Some wondered if it was a hint about the full cast announcement, which was previously announced for September 3 on “Good Morning America.”

“I hope it’s cast announcements, can’t wait to see who’s on it this season!” one fan wrote in the comment section.

Others wondered if it was a hint that Hough and Riberio are going to dance together this season. And others felt it was an announcement for a new dance style to be featured on the show.

“Are they adding hip hop as a style? 👀” one fan wanted to know.

“Ahhhh I’m so excitedd!!!😍 maybe hip hop🤪,” another agreed.

“This sounds like a new dance style🔥 but I hope we get cast and pro reveal soon!!” another fan chimed in.

4 DWTS Cast Members Have Already Been Announced for Season 34

While fans are waiting for the full “Dancing With the Stars” Season 34 cast list, four celebrities have already been announced for this fall’s competition.

Back in April, wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin was the first person announced for DWTS Season 34. Irwin is the brother of DWTS Season 21 champ Bindi Irwin. In addition, social media star Alix Earle was announced as a contestant via a sneak peek on “Good Morning America.”

And reality TV fans will recognize two cast members from  Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” Whitney Leavitt and Jennifer Affleck will both compete in the ABC dancing competition this fall.
