“Dancing With the Stars” has only confirmed one competitor for the upcoming Season 34, but Robert Irwin’s casting has been met with excitement. Ahead of putting his dancing skills to the test onstage, he continues to promote animal conservation and created an interesting conversation around the topic when he posed for the Bonds “Made for Down Under” campaign.
The photoshoot sees Irwin posing with multiple critters, including snakes and spiders, and it has attracted attention from fans because it also shows off his toned abs. But how does he feel about the increased attention?
Robert Irwin Admits His Underwear Photos Have Got Him New Admirers
In a recent interview with People, Irwin was asked about the reaction to his underwear campaign, which was shared on the official Bonds Instagram account. He has now confirmed that his inbox is looking very full after multiple fans have reached out to compliment him. “Oh my gosh. The DMs are a dangerous place right now,” he told People on May 10. “I have been giving the DMs a wide berth.”
Irwin may be ignoring the messages in his inbox, but he is incredibly grateful to have the attention, which helps bring awareness to his conservation efforts. “I very much appreciate everyone listening to my message,” Robert said. “I just try and put out a bit of positivity into the world, and I do want to reach as many people as I can. And interestingly enough, my whole life, I’ve reached people in my khakis, and I never would’ve thought that I would reach even more people out of my khakis, out of the uniform.”
How Does Robert Irwin Feel About the Increased Attention?
Irwin’s comments show his playful personality and great sense of humor. He jokes about attracting attention without his khakis, but he has also endeared himself to a new audience, which is good because he wants as many people as possible to hear his message. He is also passionate about health and fitness.
Robert is the son of the late Steve Irwin and conservationist Terri Irwin. He has grown up in the spotlight, but has recently embraced fan attention. The transition from being a cute kid to having people fawn over him is a significant change. Still, Robert has been gracious. “It’s been a fun experience, and I’m very flattered, and everyone has been really kind. They really have,” he said.
Perhaps “Dancing With the Stars” co-host Julianne Hough best described Robert’s change when she told Variety he was entering a “new chapter.” This has also made him someone to watch as he heads into the competition, and fans will learn more about him.
