Former ‘DWTS’ Pro Looks So Different After Major Transformation

Former “Dancing With the Stars” pro Artem Chigvintsev looks totally different after undergoing a hair restoration procedure. The 43-year-old dad opened up about his hair transplant back in June, and recently gave an update on how pleased he is with the results.

“My daily routine after the hair restoration that I got done is absolutely carefree,” Chigvintsev shared in an Instagram post. He explained that before his hair transplant he would try to style his locks in a certain way to try to hide his hairline, but now he doesn’t have to worry about it anymore.

Chigvintsev called the endless attention to his hair and all the styling “annoying,” and is super happy to have a new and easy haircare routine. “There is not one second of the day that I think that I wanna do something to it,” the dancer said.

Why Artem Chigvintsev Opted for Hair Restoration

When Chigvintsev initially shared his hair journey with fans, he explained why it was so important to him. “The reason why I actually got the hair transplant done is because I started noticing thinning,” the “DWTS” alum revealed. “Sad as it sounds, I’m getting older.”

He went on to say that being in the spotlight on TV and in photos was making him feel self-conscious and that taking a step to change his appearance gave him some much-needed confidence. He also addressed the stigma attached to men getting work done to improve their appearance.

“Men do care, don’t get me wrong,” Chigvintsev said. “I cared enough to do something about it.” And after trying other methods such as prescription medications and PRP injections, he finally found something that worked wonders. “My hair looks and feels better than ever, and I finally feel like the most confident version of myself again—on screen and off,” he shared.

Chigvintsev’s tenure on “DWTS” began in 2014 as a member of the Dance Troupe, and in 2018 he began performing as a pro.

In 2020 Chigvintsev took home the Mirrorball Trophy with partner Kaitlyn Bristowe, which was an emotional experience for him. “It was such a surreal moment that I never thought it would be, in the reality of this world,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

The dancer did not appear on season 33 of the show and it doesn’t sound like he plans to return any time soon. “He won’t be on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ this season,” a source told Parade, addding “but he is working by teaching at conventions and things like that.”
