Garth Brooks Reacted to Trisha Yearwood’s Star On Hollywood Walk of Fame
Trisha Yearwood, 60, was recognized with her own star on the Hollywood Boulevard’s Walk of Fame after a storied country music career that began on July 2, 1991, with the release of her self-titled debut album that went double platinum, according to The Boot.
People says Yearwood made a touching speech in which she turned much of the attention to her husband, “Friends In Low Places” singer Garth Brooks.
The magazine reports Yearwood said about her spouse, “That one has really been a cheerleader and as many accolades and awards as he has won, I never see him get more excited than he does when I receive something.”
The feature says she went on, “For all the people that want this for me, nobody wants it more than you. I appreciate you for being my support.”
Fellow country giant Reba McIntire was also present at the ceremony to make some remarks. She said she first remembers meeting Yearwood in the early ’90s at the ACMs, and recalled sitting next to the new starlet and her mother at an after party.
“I thought, I love her already,” said the “Somebody Should Leave,” singer. “You’re dry wit and humor won my heart,” McIntire added.
Country musician and songwriter Carly Pearce also spoke. “People tell you to never meet your heroes. But the woman we are celebrating today has made me and so many other aspiring country music singers think differently,” she said during her remarks. She also fondly recalled the August 2021 moment Yearwood inducted her into the Grand Ole Opry.
People says tears fell from Brooks’ eyes as each speech was delivered.

Although the country music royalty didn’t marry until 2005, Evoke says they first met in 1987. The run-in happened when Brooks was recording a demo track for songwriter Kent Blazy, according to the outlet.
Each star was currently married to someone else at the time. Brooks was paired with songwriter Sandy Mahl, who he divorced in 2001. Yearwood was married to Christopher Latham, the first of her three husbands.
She divorced Latham in 1991, and was then married to Robert Reynolds from 1994 to 1999 before ending up with Brooks.
