Riley Green Will Man The Grill, But Keep This Side Dish Off His Plate

You can count on Riley Green to man the grill at family get-togethers, but don’t expect him to eat any vegetables with his burger or steak. As KTLO shared, the country music star has explained that he typically skips his greens at meals. “I’m not a big vegetable guy,” he said, adding that he still has simple tastes. “I’m still like a kid, I like cheese and sauce.”

The singer has also shared that grilling is his primary strength as a home cook overall. “I don’t know if I would say that I cook,” Green said in a video Music Choice shared in 2024. “But I definitely grill.” He went on to say that meat-eater staples like steak are his specialty.

As Green explained to KTLO, his mom, Karen, is a huge help when it comes to grilling at his Alabama home. “She’ll usually run to the grocery store and get me some steaks and chicken, just have it laid out for me,” the singer shared when describing how his mom pitches in. “That’s one thing that I appreciate [about] going home is gettin’ to kinda just work in my own kitchen, I guess.”

The singer went on to explain that grilling often becomes a family affair on those trips home. “She usually lets me cook for everybody,” he said. “And she’ll call up some of the family and kinda gather everybody around.” As Green told Hook & Barrel Magazine, he didn’t stray far from his hometown when choosing a house of his own. “That’s home for me,” he said. “My whole family lives within 10 miles of my house.”

The Singer Likely Won’t Get Much Grilling Done This Summer

Summer is touring season for most of the musical world, and Green has his fair share of shows scheduled for the next few months. The “Worst Way” singer will make his way around the U.S. in June and July, and even has two Canandian concerts planned for mid-August. Grilling at home will likely be on the back burner (pun intended) for much of the summer.

As Holler shared, fans across the Atlantic will also get their chance to see Green in action later this year. He’ll be playing multiple mid-September shows in the U.K. and Ireland.
